Has the world become mad, unintelligible? Possibly. Is the world on the verge of it? Definitely. Do you think you see, on occasion, sometimes, a shadowy hand moving the horrors in the same direction?

You’re not imagining things…the hand is there, bloody and cruel. The dark entity that it’s attached to wears a mask called the French Revolution.

Will you lift the mask?

Offensively bad both in content and delivery

To be fair I am abandoning this podcast after the pilot. So I apologize if I missed some profound evolution in quality and content.

The podcast is bad. Offensively bad. The editing is cumbersome and music is awkward. The sound quality is like listening to a man pontificating in an empty lecture hall.

The presenter introduces his work offering nuance and a focus on objective truth. This quickly devolves into nearly an hour of self righteous ranting about secular immorality and the decline of western society. The presenter has a very clear disdain for pop culture and news media which is ironically conveyed with the same hamfisted and sneering delivery as the likes of a Conservative talk show host. It’s not cute, it’s obnoxious.

I came into this podcast wanting to understand more about the historical context and continued challenges we face globally resulting from the French Revolution. I wanted to like this podcast but I simply do not feel that I will get the comprehensive history and analysis nor the academic rigor that I want.
