Barry On Up The Sex Ray: I'm Not Feeling Myself Tonight
Phwoaarr!!!!
The Bounders are back discussing a curious little number from 1976 (or is it 75??) written by British cinema legend David McGillivray called....wait for it.....I'm Not Feeling Myself Tonight.
Centred around the obligatory sex-starved male who works in a sex clinic and invents a sex-ray....what on earth could go wrong??
Packed with famous faces, devoid of laughs....it's the perfect fodder for Pete and Fred to masticate themselves silly over. -
Stark Naked: What's Up Nurse!
In a moment neither of them had seen, ahem, coming...Pete and Fred discuss what they believe to be the worst film they have discussed to date.
Charmless, unfunny, grotesque, offensive....yet brimmed to the rafters with genuine bona fide showbiz names, What's Up Nurse is a curious new low in the canon of 1970s British Sex Comedies.
Just like Jesus dying on the cross for your sins but much worse, Pete and Fred watched this film so you don't have to. -
You Handsome Barstard! : The Stud
What's his name, what's his name? Stud!
Pete and Fred take on a favourite film of theirs...The Stud, starring Joan Collins and Oliver Tobias. With a pulsating disco soundtrack, extremely raunchy set pieces and more social commentary than you'd imagine, The Stud is a rollercoaster of a film, with a great cast and lots of themes to unpick.
Join the Bounders as they re-evaluate the film that arguably established a new genre: big budget erotic drama. Michael Douglas? I've sh*t em! -
Interview Special #1 Larry Dann
Fred finally gets to meet the leading man from his favourite Carry On film, Larry Dann!
Acting legend Larry kindly took the time to discuss his amazing career with Pete and Fred, including his time on the Carry On films, as well as working with other Giants of Comedy.
Larry's life story (Oh What A Lovely Memoir!) are about to be published, details below:
https://www.devonfirebooks.com/product/larrydann-memoir
Larry Dann's acting career began with a knock on the door, when a seven year old schoolboy was talent scouted by London's Corona Academy and invited to be in a film shooting at Denham Studios. This was the start of a career that saw him perform in hundreds of stage productions all over the world, star in four of the iconic "Carry On" movies and become a household name as Sgt. Alec Peters in ITV's "The Bill".
In his highly entertaining autobiography, Larry recalls his 70-year career in showbiz, from dodging school to make movies, joining Joan Littlewood's groundbreaking Theatre Workshop, performing the original production of "Oh, What A Lovely Memoir" in the West End and on Broadway, starring in the cult horror movie "Ghost Story", nicking villains on the streets of Sun Hill and getting the custard pie treatment from Sooty & Sweep.
As well as sharing the extraordinary highs and lows that an acting career can bring, this beautifully crafted memoir also tells the story of a young boy growing up in London during the Second World War, with a father fighting for his country and a mother dreaming of stardom. From working with villains in the East End to sleeping with cockroaches in New York, from personal tragedies to happy accidents, Larry has shared many of these adventures with Liz, his wife of 50 years.
Featuring a special introduction by fellow legend Brian Murphy and dozens of rare photographs capturing Larry's life and career, "Oh, What A Lovely Memoir" is published by Devonfire Books. The limited edition hardback has now sold out, but the paperbacks are printing now and can be pre-ordered at devonfirebooks.com -
