We are BACK! We missed YOU and our microphones so damn much!
We are back in the studio together doing what we do best, sharing things that help us, things that make our jaws drop, things that hurt our hearts, and things that make us laugh. Because we all know, the magic is in the laughter.
This week, Sarah and I are sharing our lessons learned from our time away and one of our very favorite Instagram accounts, which leads us to the age old question, how do we achieve a work life balance?
Be sure to stick around until the end for a very special treat!

E 116: We Were On a Break!
It isn't a break up. Not even close, but just the opposite. We need to take a break, to rest, to recharge, and to take care of our mental health. Listen to this mini episode to hear more about why.
We want to always be real, authentic, and true to ourselves because that is what we hope for our listeners. When you need the time to take care of yourself, we hope you will take it. Sometimes that means saying no to things you LOVE, only so you can return to them better than you were before.
We will be back with new guest interviews, more time with Dr. Katie, stories from our own wild and weird lives, and even take you on field trips out into the world as we try to heal our shit. Join us for brand new episodes beginning March 16th, 2023.
Until then, be sure to check out the back catalog of over 100 episodes! You can search by topic on our website Unqualifiedtherapists.com. While you are there, you can sign up for our newsletter (never spammy, just the good stuff), leave a voicemail, and find ways to support our mission.

E 115: Unbelievable: When No One Believes You
Why won’t those in “authority” believe us when we tell them something awful happened or is about to happen? Why don't they take action?
Episode 115 discusses examples of not being believed or taken seriously in our own lives, current events in the news with teacher, Abby Zwerner, and a story from our very favorite reporter, Josh Mankiewicz from Dateline. It is a daily occurrence and we really need to find a way to make it stop.
Until then, we will “Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes” (Maggie Kuhn).

E 114 Intrusive Thoughts: The Rager in Our Minds
Intrusive thoughts, we all have them, they are weird and can be embarrassing, but guess what? It’s okay to talk about them. Talking about them, getting them out of heads, and knowing we aren’t the only ones having them helps.
I (Amy) share a lot in this episode. I give you the VIP tour of my brain that no one knows about. After we finished recording and the days following, I kept telling Sarah how embarrassed I felt because this is vulnerable shit that I tell no one. I wanted to erase it all, take the words back and get a do over where I just share the facts. But I didn't, instead I share with all of you because I believe with all my heart that there is someone out there wondering if they are the only one who thinks these thoughts. You are NOT the only one. I promise. In the episode, I describe the inside of my head as, “Its like this f*ing party that you didn’t invite anybody to but they all showed up. You invite one friend over when your parents are out of town and the whole school shows up and you're like Nope. You are just doing life and there is a rager in your head.” It was a silly sentence that slipped out, but truly, it can sum up what some of my days feel like.
Thankfully, after our discussion of the various types of intrusive thoughts, Sarah shares with us a list of ways we can quiet and calm the thoughts in our brains. We don’t have to be paralyzed by these intrusive thoughts. Anxiety doesn’t need to stop us from living beautiful lives. We hope our stories, tips, and our encouragement to reach out for professional help when needed helps you on your journey to quiet your mind and live in peace, or as I put it, “turn that rager into a yoga class in your mind.”
We love you Warriors!

E 113: Lucky Girl Syndrome
Are you lucky? Have you heard of the “latest” trend, “Lucky Girl Syndrome?” (And by latest, I mean the age-old idea of manifestation.) This idea has resurfaced on Tik Tok and started a very interesting conversation and life experiment for the two of us.
We talk all about luck in this episode, discussing Ted Talks, TV shows, Neuroscience, and, of course, examples from our lives. There are public apologies to our respective partners for laughing at their “stupid” ideas and thinking they were ridiculous to believe they were lucky all the time. You live and learn, right?
Don’t worry, we break down the difference between “lucky girl syndrome” and toxic positivity too.
It is a jam packed episode rooted in luck! We hope you will not only enjoy it, but also try it yourself! Don’t forget to leave us a voice memo here telling us what happened because YOU are the luckiest people in the world and everything works out for you.
We love you Warriors!

E 112: Financial Abuse: What Is It and How to Protect Yourself.
This week, Sarah interviews Tracy Coenen, a forensic accountant. Tracy is, “finding money in cases of corporate fraud, high net worth divorces, and other financial shenanigans.” It is a fascinating and informative interview that shares how money is used as an abusive tactic and how you can protect yourself.
Tracy offers her expertise in this interview that you can use right now. She has also created a Divorce Money Guide to go deeper into the process. She is offering Unqualified Therapists listeners $100 off of the guide. Use code: UT at checkout.
We hope you are able to take information from this episode that can help you or someone you love. It isn’t a topic that is discussed often, but that is what we do here, talk about the things that are uncomfortable and need to be brought to light.

Customer Reviews
My favorite podcast!
This is by far my favorite podcast to listen to. I love the mix of serious and funny topics. I’ve enjoyed every podcast even if I thought it was something I wasn’t interested in. Sarah and Amy have a way of pulling you in and making you want to listen to whatever they want to talk about. Love it!
My favorite podcast
This is my absolute favorite podcast! The topics are so important. Everyone needs to listen to these everyday stories and advice. It’s such a great mixture of research and experts plus the amazing chemistry of Amy and Sarah together. It’s fun, informative, and most of ALL RELATABLE!!!
Love this show!
I was suggested this show by a friend, and I truly enjoy it so much! The content is amazing and I get so many gems from it. My only critique is that the background music is somewhat distracting and takes away from the conversations. Maybe it’s just me, but I wanted to share because at times it pulls me from really absorbing the conversation. Still love the show though!
