    Changes- Chapters 36, 37, 38

Hey everyone! Sorry this was later than usual! Normally I try to get it edited by Monday but RoShawn had some trouble getting the file sent to me (power outage that lasted a whole day) so I was only able to edit it tonight.
If anyone knows the artist for this piece, please let me know. I was able to find it posted to several blogs, but none cited a source. It was simply too good not to use!
This episode, RoShawn and I talk about the Erlking, whom she is a big fan of, as it turns out. She's really hoping that we get to see him again, although she's worried about the fact that he's clearly intent on making Harry into the quarry of his next hunt. Yikes.
Then, Lea catches up with him and Susan, and bestows upon them some gifts, although Harry is far from sanguine about things since their time in Faerie turned out to take hours longer in the mortal world than they thought. Oops.
Thanks so much for listening, and we will see you next week with a new episode!

    Changes- Chapters 33-35

ART CREDIT! This awesome illustration of Susan literally ripping the tongue out of a Red Court vampire's mouth is by Vincent Chong, and more illustrations (rife with spoilers, so beware) can be found here! https://vincentchongart.myportfolio.com/bw-art-the-dresden-files

In these chapters, Harry winds up in the police station again, in an attempt to get Susan out of custody because they have nothing substantial to hold her on. However, while he's there the Red Court decides that it's time to pull out all the stops and just f*****g murder everyone in their way, and they bring the Ich with them.

Susan and Harry manage to lure the main body of the assault through a Way into the NeverNever, but in their attempt to get out of a dangerous situation where they're outnumbered by inhuman beings....they wind up in a dangerous situation where they're outnumbered by inhuman beings. Oops.

    Changes- Chapters 30, 31, 32

This amazing illustration of Mab is available for purchase on artist Brandi York's shop, and I wantsssss it, precioussssssss https://brandiyorkart.com/products/dresden-files-death-featuring-queen-mab
This episode is the one in which Harry finally throws in his lot with Mab and the Winter Court, and has to seal the pact by slaughtering Lloyd Slate and having sex with Mab on the stone table. He comes back to himself as his friends hit him with several hundred volts of electricity because his heart has stopped, and as SOON as that is settled, Butters is shot.
Things are bonkers, is what I'm saying.
Thanks for listening, and we will see you next week with a new episode!

I really enjoy DresdenskinsArt's interpretation of the angel Uriel's appearance in this one. I can see how this dude turned up disguised as a janitor, and I'm really going to keep the image in mind going forward. It's a lot more interesting than the way I was picturing Uriel, anyway.
This episode deals with one of the roughest moments in the series, which is the moment in which Harry breaks his back and realizes that the time has come to make a deal. RoShawn is really taken aback (heh) by the fact that his daughter wasn't enough motivation, according to Jim Butcher, and that he needed another layer of torment heaped upon him, and she and I spend a little time wondering if Harry would have made a deal if he broke his back while fighting the other baddies he's encountered in previous books.
Thanks so much for listening, and thanks again to Brendan Hone for his help and research! We will see you next week!

There's an extra chapter again this week, because I couldn't bear to leave it at three considering what was going on.

    Changes- Chapters 20, 21, 22

    ART CREDIT! https://dresdenfiles.fandom.com/wiki/Odin?file=JabariWeathers-1.jpg
Welcome, kids, to the episode covering the chapters in which Harry finally meets Donar Vadderung, AKA Odin himself. RoShawn was a big fan of this section, and was a little bummed out that Butcher confirmed it was Odin in the text so that she didn't have a chance to show off her literary sleuthing.
Harry finds out that the purpose of the sacrifice is to cast a bloodline curse that will wipe out everyone on Harry's family tree, and we think over what that could mean. Why would someone bother, when Harry's family is so small? And how did they figure out who Maggie even was, to target her?
Thanks so much for listening, and we will be seeing you soon with a new episode!

Just as fun as the books

I stumbled upon this podcast during the Dark Times between the release of Skin Game and Peace Talks. At first I was apprehensive because while I enjoy the books I am not blind to their flaws and have run into a few instances where those flaws are all that get talked about ignoring even the growth that occurs as the series progresses. I was very pleasently surprised to find these two vivacious women holding Jim Butcher's feet to the fire while still deeply enjoying the series. I am very much looking forward to RoShawn and the other unspoiled listeners experiencing Those Four Lines (Marster's delivery is epic, that is all) as well as the more or less continuous insanity of the rest of the books.

Feeding my Dresen obsession

I am only up too summer knight but loving every episode with these two. It was exactly what I needed to get me excited for peace talks. Unfortunately I don’t have the self control to wait to read peace talks and be unspoiled for it but I can’t wait to listen through all the craziness.

Fun and insightful.

My wife refuses to read anything I recommend, so I haven’t been able to discuss Dresden Files with her, or share a laugh at Harry’s lame jokes. Recently, a redditor mentioned this podcast and it’s like having two new wives to share the joy! I am bingeing while waiting for my preorder of Peace Talks to arrive, but will stick with Natasha and RoShawn all the way.
