What a spectacular show

Whether or not you like gardening, this show is a delight. (Hopefully you’re at least gardening-curious.)

The production is first rate. The recording and editing are effortless. The theme song (and its occasional variations) has the perfect amount of eye-wink. And the planning and research is top-notch.

Wait, you want humor? No, no, sorry, there’s absolutely no humor here, as gardening is a sober pursuit, to be undertaken only with the gravest of dispositions. You shall not hear a single pun, and certainly no innuendo at the mention of zucchini.

And the pod-plays—featuring Denver’s finest actors—are just spot on.

This podcast has changed my life.

I discovered this podcast in summer 2021. I’d been working from home for over a year because of Covid, and was gardening because I had the time, and it was a very zen activity for me. But I knew so little! Christy and Edith provide “infotainment” in the best way. I’ve listened and re-listened to every episode, and used it as a guide for experimentation in the garden and further research.

Don’t tell the Department of Labor, but $2 of my monthly pandemic unemployment is now going to the delightful makers of “Upside Down Tulips.” By teaching me how to grow my own food, they will be saving me much more than $2 a month, so the state can just think of it as an investment with many happy returns.
