241: The Vegan Connector
Rafael Ruiz is a father of 2 kids; he has a daughter in college and a son in High School. He decided to stop eating all animal products in August of 2018 at the age of 45, after watching a documentary called "Food Choices."
Since Rafael is in his forties, he felt it necessary to focus on his health, and make changes necessary to live his best life. Since switching to veganism, he's learned to help inspire his own kids, as well as others, by sharing his vegan journey. This not only includes his food choices, but the actions he's taken to volunteer at animal sanctuaries, switch to vegan products and promote others on his own show, The Vegan Connector Podcast.
Rafael's podcast hosts guests who have also used their passions for veganism, and allows them to share their stories of knowledge and experience with others.

240: The Session
Sesh is a Rap artist and chef who takes the name "Rap Chef". Today, Sesh produces and creates music, food and culture in everything he does. He's an advocate of a Whole Food Plant Based diet for health, environment and the animals. Sesh encourages others to seek happiness and health in everything they do, and has even created a new eBook to help others transition to a healthier lifestyle.
In this episode, Sesh describes his life growing up in Philly, and his travels to California which were inspired by a dream to do better. He talks about how people can "get stuck" in their hometowns and how many never pursue their dreams by taking the leap necessary to succeed. Part of The Session's journey includes his awakening to the food industry and how our food choices can either negatively or positively impact us in life.
Sesh also talks about stereotypes, education and bad habits in all cultures. Also! Stay tuned because Sesh's new album is about to drop! Be sure to subscribe to his Spotify channel for updates on new releases!

238: Sorinne for President
Sorinne Ardeleanu is the daughter of immigrant parents who fled communism in the pursuit of freedom. She's an entrepreneur with a background in psychology, healthcare, sales, executive coaching, philosophy, theology and various sciences. Unlike politicians, Sorinne believes that love, acceptance and understanding of others is the key to happiness.
In this podcast, Sorinne talks about the problems with our current government, and how she would love to see change in the world. She is running as an Independent Candidate, which she believes compliments the natural laws of freedom and what the Universe has to offer us. She also points out that the way politics are ran, they can go against these natural laws which provides the opportunity for suffering and distress.
Sorinne also talks about some of the possible repercussions of getting "free stuff" from the government, and how this can impact our freedom. She also brings alternative solutions to our current problems in ways that would inspire others to grow and learn what true freedom is.

237: John Brooks for Congress
John Brooks was the first black graduate from the University of Montana, where he studied ecology, and he has always had the passion to help people and the environment. He's protected US airways as an Air Marshall, and worked with US Customs and Homeland Security to prevent the unlawful trafficking of live exotic wildlife. He's spent 30 years with the US Department of Interior from California to Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Virginia, Washington DC and New Jersey.
John has also held the titles, Refuge Manager, Wildlife Inspector, Special Agent, Computer Forensics Specialist and augmented Federal Air Marshal. Although he retired in 2008 as a civil servant, he's continued to stress the importance of education through his work as an author, filmmaker, musician and community volunteer and believes education is the key to a healthy society.
Although congressional candidates have already been decided for this election year, John comes on the podcast to discuss some of the ways we can contribute to a less-cruel, and more loving environment, not only to benefit people, but animals as well.
John and I also take a few minutes to discuss the issues at hand regarding the police force, the Black Lives Matter movement, and everything that has lead up to our current movement.
*NOTE* I personally try to keep my political views off of podcasts, with the intent of focusing on veganism, rather than causing division in those that don't identify with political parties at hand. I've provided a platform for those to speak about veganism, and align with their views in effort to do so. My intent is not to promote or disqualify any political party, but rather to promote the areas that align with veganism.*
236: Yoga is Vegan
Holly Skodis watched her dad literally end his life through the nutritional choices he had made throughout his life. Shortly after, she noticed she was having higher cholesterol and blood pressure and started making the connection with food and health.
Around the same time, Holly started her Yoga Teacher Training, which led to her research on the typical diets of yogis. On a compassionate level, Holly made the connection between spirituality and what was on her plate.
Today, Holly believes wholly in not only a vegan lifestyle for compassionate reasons, but a Whole Food Plant-Based diet for health reasons.

This is Awesome and helpful
New to this podcast and I love the content already!
All for spreading the love and reaching more vegans but I’m conflicted by the host’s views. For talking to so many great people, a lot doesn’t seem to resonate with her. Don’t eat animals but using animals in laboratories is ok with her.
