This 39th safety topic being presented is on the subject matter of the introduction to oxygen and flammable gases on the construction site. My goal is to offer some basic safety tips when handling flammable gases, such as oxygen, during hot work on the jobsite. I'm sharing some basic information that comes from both jobsite practices as well as FDNY Chapter #14 guidelines that govern temporary heaters here in New York City. The goal is to provide information and help my crew members go home in the same condition that they came in.

My goal is to also offer some basic safety tips when working near these temporary heaters that are used for curing concrete or the fire resistant material that gets sprayed onto building steel on brand-new buildings (known as deck jobs in the field). This 36th safety topic being presented is on the subject matter of Beta Max electric hoists and Gar-Bro concrete buckets that are used for high-rise buildings. This topic arose from a recent minor accident on the job while in the middle of a brand-new concrete pour. Thankfully, this accident was minor yet it did require a DOB inspection that resulted in a partial stop work order. The objective of this video series is to share the sequence of events that happened to create the concrete pour accident and the resolution that was required in order to lift the partial stop work order that happened on one of the building scaffolds. Ultimately, I'm sharing with you the root cause of the concrete accident and the matching resolutions that were required in order for the partial stop work order to be eventually lifted. The hoist safety checks and guidelines both prior and during concrete operations while using the electric roof hoist is required. The goal is to provide information and help my crew members go home in the same condition that they came in.

This 35th safety topic being presented is on the subject matter of electric hoists and concrete buckets for high-rise buildings. This topic arose from a recent minor accident on the job during a brand-new concrete pour. Thankfully, this accident was minor and did not require a DOB inspection. The objective of this video series is to share the sequence of events that happened that created this concrete bucket accident on the scaffold. I want to share with you how the root cause was determined and resolved so that the partial stop work order was lifted.
