Viewing Purpose with an Eternal Perspective with Rebecca George The Best Kept Secret With Liv Dooley

    • Relationships

It's time to view your purpose with an eternal perspective. Let's talk about it with Rebecca George
God Loves to Partner with WomenI once met someone who shared she didn't like reading the Old Testament, and I get it. There are parts of the Old Testament that show just how far and disobedient Israel had grown from God. Nowhere is that more evident than through the ways that women are treated-particularly in the book of Judges.
Thankfully, however, God continues to redeem women, and one of the places He does that most is through the books of 1 and 2 Samuel, where we meet women like Hannah, Abigail, the Wise Woman from Tekoa, and then on into 1 Kings with Bathsheba.
The Lord loves women, and He makes bold statements, both about our worth and our work, throughout the Bible. I pray you find a few scriptures that motivate your work.
THIS WEEK, WE'RE REFLECTING PROVERBS 31:30-31Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
A WOMAN YOU SHOULD KNOWRebecca's not the only woman that you should know, though. Today, my guest cohost, Tonya, and I have the honor to highlight Dr. Avril Occilien Similien, a powerful woman of God with a heart for worship. Get connected to her here.
I ASKED REBECCA:What does it look like to live with eternity in our hearts and exercise integrity in an area we hope to encourage others in?How do we, you know, ensure that we are doing that through the unique personalities that he's given us, instead of getting caught up in those comparisons and some of that behavior that leads us to clone others?There’s an obvious link between striving and burnout, so can you share with us what you learned about how to choose a life of surrender and submission instead of striving?You share that there are people we need in our corner who help us learn how to pursue our calling with eternity in mind, so can you share who some of those people we need in our corner are?
