HISTORY's Vikings Podcast is back, and host Liam Geraghty is taking you inside the world of the hit show. Featuring interviews with the cast, crew, and creators, and original stories from behind-the-scenes, HISTORY's Vikings Podcast will take you through the epic journey that goes into making the epic show, and get you ready for the premiere of Season 5 on Wednesday, November 29th at 9/8c.
Bonus: Vikings History w/ Donal Fallon
Liam is back for one more bonus episode! This week he chats with historian Donal Fallon about the fact and the fiction surrounding Vikings.
Bonus: Prophecies of the Seer II
Step back inside the Seer's visions with episodes 3 through 6 of Prophecies of the Seer. You'll hear the Seer foretell of Floki's adventures across the sea, Ivar's machinations, Bjorn's new enemies, and a brewing civil war. Make sure to put on headphones for the full 3D audio impact. Find all the episodes on Apple Podcasts and at History.com/TheSeer.
Brothers in Arms
In our final episode before the Season 5 premiere, Liam sits down with Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). He keeps them separated though, as it seems the sons of Ragnar aren't getting along right now. Plus, Michael Hirst gets us amped for what he calls "the best season yet."
Bonus: Prophecies of the Seer
HISTORY's Vikings Podcast is proud to present episodes 1 and 2 of Prophecies of the Seer: 'Enter the lair of the Seer, if you dare. Ready your ears for a full-on 3D audio immersion in Prophecies of the Seer. Beware, this audio series is not for the faint of heart. You’ll be transported to the world of Vikings, where the Seer shares the gods’ wishes for the new season. Headphones are required for the full 3D audio impact.' Find all the episodes on Apple Podcasts and at History.com/TheSeer.
A Stab, A Slash, and A Die
The magic of Vikings is in making what you see on the screen seem like it could have taken place in the Viking age, more than a thousand years ago. So, the places where scenes are shot, how those locations are decorated, and what it all ultimately sounds like become incredibly important. This week, Liam gets into it with three of the people responsible for making modern locations look at sound Viking authentic: Set Decorator, Jil Turner, Locations Manager, Manus Hingerty, and Emmy-nominated ADR Editor, Dale Sheldrake.
The Invisible Hands
Over its four seasons so far, Vikings has received critical and fan attention not just for the storytelling and performances, but also for the unique, groundbreaking look of the Vikings world and the characters in it. This week, Liam hears from some of the most influential people on that look, Emmy-nominated makeup and prosthetics artist, Tom McInerney, Emmy-nominated hair stylist, Dee Corcoran, and stunt coordinator, Richard Ryan.
Behind the Show
These are like the missing "inside the episode" shorts from Game of Thrones, but for Vikings! The production quality is great, they're well edited, and it's super fascinating to hear about what went into creating an amazing show.
Where are new episodes?
I’m giving the podcast the benefit of the doubt and assume the podcaster has declined to continue his relationship with the History Channel. That or something else occurred that prevents him from continuing the podcast but there are no new podcasts related to the new season. I thoroughly enjoy listening to the pod but it seems like ragnorock came early to this pod. The insight and behind the scenes interviews of producers, directors, actors and artists is amazing (thus the 3 star review) but in reality its lack of new content dropped my review from a five to a three.
