Dear listener! In this episode you can get to know Tessa Weber, who is a PR professional, media and presentation trainer, lifestyle coach. Her unique combination of expertise led us to touch up on topics like: -The role of trust in today’s world, but also the almost unavoidable notion of being fake. -The thin layers between PR, marketing and sales and how these fields meant to support each other.  -How to operate as a PR professional with solid value system and morals? Because of her background Tessa is able to see and recognize blockages and patterns on the level of an individual and also able to scale up and see through entire organizations as well.  She helps entrepreneurs, startups and established bigger companies to communicate their true message and fully align their core values with their activities and communication. 4. Ep. 22 Jan Hellinga ~DiSC model and gut feeling in sales and entrepreneurship

Ep. 22 Jan Hellinga ~DiSC model and gut feeling in sales and entrepreneurship

Dear Wachama People!  In this week’s episode you can get to know Jan Hellinga, who is the director of Omeo Groep, mentor and business coach who also guides start-ups at StartHub in Wageningen.   After finishing his studies in Dronten and Wageningen, Jan was working on the field of plant protection for 10 years, then he spent around 10 years in sales and in the last 10 years he is into coaching and mentoring.  This could seem very technical, materialistic and rational however, Jan at the same time is and always been very curious about why people do what they do? His innate curiosity about people’s behavior led him to read through the most relevant psychology literature already during his youth.    Regardless technical, business and psychological knowledge decisions are often based on emotions, instincts and on our gut feeling. You know, following the gut feeling is one of my favorite topics.  In this one hour long podcast we touched up on the topics of entrepreneurial decision making (rational/instinct based), personality types based on the DiSC model, meditation and new and evergreen business and sales practices. In short, it is all about self-awareness and human relationships.  Enjoy the episode and feel free to contact Jan or me or just leave a comment in the comment section.  Useful links: Full Episode: https://youtu.be/Zd7YGTkupF0 Wachama’s website: https://www.wachama.org/  Wachama on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7lz...  Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3riwVYt...  Apple podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... 5. Ep. 21 Hoe Ren Wong ~From oil rig to inner peace

    06/23/2019

Ep. 21 Hoe Ren Wong ~From oil rig to inner peace

Dear Wachama Peeps!  In this week’s episode you can get to know Ren Wong from Singapore. We had a fascinating conversation with Ren and touched up on all kinds of topics. We came to the conclusion that you cannot really live a fulfilled life if your occupation is not in alignment with your values and what your inner voice/your soul is calling you to do. To establish your value system, you might need to try the extremes first to find your middle way. And to be able to hear and find out what your inner calling is, the constant chatter of your mind needs to be silenced. Ren tried out himself in the oil business and later he started to study about renewable energy sources.  Coming from an ultra-urban environment (Singapore) he is experiencing and finding values in rural life close to nature.  The other important dimensions of Ren’s journey is health and self-exploration. Dealing with autoimmune disease since his childhood made him very aware of what he consumes from food to new and body care. Seeing almost every input as information he became very conscious to filter out the unnecessary “noise” and toxins” of the world. The role of fasting when food is restricted or Vipassana silent meditation that restricts noises and many other virtual inputs provided him already deep insights how the world around him and his mind and body operate. Further explorations led him to discover the healing and magical power of plants that can heal our mind, body & soul all together with our environment and economics. Enjoy the episode and leave some comments in case you want to engage.    Useful links: Full episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/9eOC-dQM5lU Wachama’s website: https://www.wachama.org/ Wachama on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7lz5nlQwOmn8rNnQvF2HZA Other useful links: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3riwVYt20rySWH8RLNn2YD Apple podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/wachama-podcast-personal-development-social-innovation/id1438770642 E. 6. Ep. 20 Alex van Tuyll ~Organic waste management & food growing with AMI

    06/10/2019

Ep. 20 Alex van Tuyll ~Organic waste management & food growing with AMI

Dear Wachama People! With the development of agriculture throughout history we are witnessing the process of more and more control over Mother nature. It is especially true in the case of modern agriculture whit all of its inventions such as fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, high-tech machinery and gene-technology. And even more specifically in the case of controlled indoor systems. Unfortunately, most of such innovations aimed to set up centralized systems, externalize social and environmental costs when they create their business models. Our health is in jeopardy and resources are being wasted along the supply chain.  While these system superiority over nature itself is often claimed.  Alex van Tuyll is a Master student in biosystems engineering at Wageningen University. His initial interest started with a home-made hydroponics system, that he set up in his home’s attic as a teenager.  This experience determined his choice of higher education as he wanted to learn as much as possible about, how to set up indoor agriculture systems. After several years of investigating such systems he learned a lot about their viability. His main motivation behind these studies is to use organic waste for food production. On his journey on figuring out how to create more efficient nutrient cycles, Alex found an approach being developed known as AMI (pronounced like ‘Jamie’): aquaponics, mushrooms, and insects. Studying AMI Alex faced the complexity how nature actually works within the system itself. This new insight made Alex’s view shift from willing to control nature to set up systems that are mimicking natural principles and collaborating with it. So far it was a pretty steep learning curve during the Wageningen years and it is not over yet, there is still lot to learn and investigate.       Full episode on Youtube: https://youtu.be/drXCwqA37Yw If you want to look into Alex’s work, check out his website: https://alexgrowsup.com/ Or follow him on Twitter: https://twitter.com/alexvantuyll Zsolt on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/zsolt_j_varga/ Wachama website:  www.wachama.org Wachama on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/wachamatribe/ Wachama on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3riwVYt20rySWH8RLNn2YD Wachama on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/wachama-podcast-personal-development-social-innovation/id1438770642
