16. Uncertain About the Future? Preparing with Hope for What's Ahead.
I’ve been noticing an interesting common feeling as I’ve been talking many moms lately. I’m seeing that a lot of us have this sense that we need to be preparing ourselves, our homes, and our families for something. Making educational choices for our kids feels really hard right now because life and the future feels rather uncertain and there’s this feeling that even though we are coming out of a pandemic… the world has changed because of it, and things aren’t going to be going back to how they were, but we’re not sure exactly what the future IS going to look like so we’re not really sure how to prepare...
We have this feeling that we need to focus on home and having a strong family as institutions seem to be falling apart around us, but at the same time we feel this call to do something about the problems we see from mental health problems to relationship issues to political turmoil...

14. Cultivating a Love of Science and God by Keeping an Open Mind [with Vince Newmeyer]
Staying curious and asking questions is what makes science interesting. Unfortunatelly, it has become too much about memorizing and recalling "facts." How do we cultivate a love of science when the "experts" are telling us what to think and what is true?

Here are a few of my favorite resources for learning about alternate theories, sparking curiousity, and opening our minds:

11. Stop Feeling Discouraged as You Focus on Goals, Focus on This Instead
This podcast could be described as the ultramarathon of parenting. It provides inspiration and a variety of perspectives for the parent looking to achieve something beyond 5k, 10k, or even marathon parenting. It encourages you to be more. For the parent looking for practical solutions to everyday problems, this may not be the best fit. But if you are looking for a guide to the next level of parenting this may be what you need. Just remember an ultramarathon is not for everyone and that is okay.
We need more warriors to stand for good!
I love Karen's wise and down to earth ways of focusing on what is REALLY important. She is an amazing mom, and I'm so glad we get to hear more from her as she uplifts and encourages us!
Love this!!! This podcast has filled me with thoughts and ideas as to how to help myself and my children be the best we can be!
