    Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn

    Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn

Have you seen or experienced a horrifying event, been a victim of a crime, or suffered a significant loss? Does your adrenaline kick in when you take a test, or sense danger, or maybe at times when you are uncertain? Trauma can affect you in the moment but it also has effects long after the triggering incident.  Our bodies react in different ways when we sense danger or have to work through our fears. During these uncertain moments our brain goes into ‘protective mode’ that can trigger "fight, flight, freeze, or fawn" or a hybrid of those responses which often affects our mental and physical health and can disrupt the quality of our lives for many years. Join our discussion of how to recognize "fight, flight, freeze, fawn" trauma responses and some of the reasons for them. Understanding both the triggers and the trauma and how to process and navigate them is instrumental in moving forward, breaking the patterns that bind us to the past, and living a joyful fulfilled life.
