I have been listening to almost the first 50 movies, with the side trip to the Oscars in 2012. I am old enough to be your mom, so it is interesting to me to hear your perspectives on movies I have know all my life. Sometimes I am amused by something that you obviously don't have the same historical view, since you weren't around at the time, for example when you went on about the racism of a character in "In the Heat of the Night" because she referred to Mr. Tibbs as "Negro". I was around then and that was just how people spoke when they were trying to be PC. Racists would have used the other "N" word. There was no other term. This isn't a complaint, just an observation.
My complaint is that I would appreciate Mike using other adjectives besides the "F" word. I am sure he is an educated young man and has a fabulous vocabulary, but doesn't consider that the substantial use of an offensive word could be off-putting. I like the show enough to continue, but sometimes I wonder if I really want to.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
