My favorite podcast!!!

I can’t get enough of this podcast. I’ve listened to each episode twice and I’m so excited for more to come! These stories have held the space for me in a special way that I didn’t know I needed until I started listening. Stories of surf, water, overcoming challenge and love. I work for Patagonia and listen every single day on my lunch break 😂 This pod makes me crave the water and also encourages me to reflect on my own story and inner space. Thank you guys!

Finding myself through Surfing

Hello, My name is Kyle and I live in Redondo Beach, CA. I am 29 years old and just discovered my hidden passion for surfing. I grew up in Arizona so going to the beach was never really an option for me. I moved to California five years ago just to change things up because I felt that life in Arizona was no longer for me. While living here in California I always run into surfers and almost all of them seem so happy and excited about life. I didn’t understand it at first. Slowly I started getting these impulses that were telling me to go into the ocean. I can’t describe it in any way other than that I was being called to surf. So earlier this year I bought a board and went out to catch my first wave. Immediately I was hooked. The amount of joy I felt on that first wave can’t be put into words but I now understand why all of these surfers are always so happy . Being in nature and flowing with the energy of the ocean gives me all the love and bliss I would ever need from this life. Just thinking about surfing makes my soul giggle. I really think that if everyone surfed the world would be a lot happier. I don’t know what life will bring me but I do know that I’ll be surfing during most of it. Thank you Dave and Lauren for providing such amazing content. -Kyle

Soothes the soul!!

Lauren and Dave create such a wonderfully held space that seems to allows stories to unfold naturally and organically. I love the joy I can hear and feel when I listen to this podcast, this is truly a labor of love and I’m so stoked it exists!! It’s very refreshing to enjoy a space like this created from within surfing. You might expect a certain open mind in the surfing community / culture but it can be actually rather difficult to find at times. I feel a sense of kindred spirit when listen to Dave and Lauren’s show and it’s so comforting!
