Teachings from Watersprings Church

    The Paralyzing Word

    The Paralyzing Word

There’s a weird sea creature called the man-of-war. This creature is often mistaken for a jellyfish because of the similarities it has with jellyfish. In fact, it’s often called the man-of-war jellyfish. Like jellyfish, the man-of-war has a venomous sting that paralyzes its prey. As unsuspecting fish and other creatures swim into the venomous tentacles they become paralyzed and are at the mercy of the strange creature called the man-of-war. The Bible is paralyzing. Like the unsuspecting fish that swim into the tentacles of the man-of-war, unsuspecting people walk into the tentacles of God’s Word. In 1 Kings 13, we find one such incident. An unsuspecting king walked into the tentacles of a man-of-God and was exposed to the paralyzing Word of God. Have you done the same? Have you been paralyzed by God’s Word?

    No Other

    No Other

God has given commandments, rules and boundaries. These are not meant to restrict our lives nor to cause misery, but to give us freedom as we grow in our relationship with Him. He alone is God. Nothing else should take His place in our lives.

    13 for 80

    13 for 80

Has life ever thrown some hard punches at you? Sometimes events and tragedies happen in our lives that we don’t know what to make of. How do we get through these events? Can they serve any purpose at all? We will see that not only does God use these tragedies for good, but He never leaves us nor forsakes us IN the tragedy either. He desires us to hold fast to hope and trust so we can shine and minister to those who are around us. There is always a bigger picture of Good in the Bad.

    Plan A

    Plan A

Nothing takes God by surprise. I mean nothing! Therefore, regardless of the unsettling news and commotion around the globe, God remains enthroned in His sovereign reign in power and glory, overseeing the affairs of men. God's plan for our salvation has been in the books before all creation. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love..." (Ephesians 1:3–4 also see 1 Peter 1:13-20) Almighty means all mighty, right? There is none like our God! Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, writes, "Inasmuch as there is none like You, O LORD (You are great, and Your name is great in might)" (Jeremiah 10:6.) Hannah prays after receiving the miracle of a son she named Samual, "No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God. (1 Samuel 2:2) God is always working His plan A, and He will see it done. The Psalmists write, But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases" (Ps 115:3) and "Whatever the LORD pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places." (Psalm 135:6) God has decreed His plans, and He will see them done to the praise of His Glory. So, do not be afraid of all the noise and commotion around us. The lesson He gave to Peter, James, John, and Andrew is just as encouraging today as they were then. All the noise is God simply moving pieces into place for our glorious entrance into the Kingdom of God and the end of this age. So look up your brother, look up sister; our redemption draws near.

Olleen Traynor ,

God is good all the time!

Watersprings is such an encouraging place! The Lord is really doing some amazing work in that place and through the people who serve there! I live in a different state, but I visit Watersprings every now and again. And to be able to listen to them teach the Word and worship the Lord with them from where I live is very encouraging and so refreshing when things get crazy! God has seriously blessed me with something so special like Watersprings!
