WOTA #231 - The Wide-Eyed Wisdom of Youth

WOTA #231 - The Wide-Eyed Wisdom of Youth

🎙️ Embracing the Fearless Spirit Within
In this episode, we explore the untamed essence of youth, where the wide-eyed wonder of the unknown propels us forward with tenacity and ferocity. Join us as we discuss how the courage of our younger selves can serve as a guiding light, encouraging us to break free from the limitations imposed by accumulated life experiences.
    Key Insights:

The Paradox of Wisdom: While life experience, wisdom, and intelligence are valuable, they can sometimes hinder us by creating a sense of awareness that can breed timidity. The innocence of youth offers a freedom to try and go for something without being in our own way.

Questioning Assumed Knowledge: Challenge the assumption that what we think we know is always accurate. False beliefs and assumed knowledge may limit our potential, and developing the courage to question and reevaluate is crucial as we age.

Overcoming Internal Restrictions: As we grow older, internal restrictions formed through perceptions of life experiences and learned lessons can make us small. Developing courage means overcoming these self-imposed limitations.

Unpacking Others' Fears: Sometimes, the fears of others become our own, shaping our perceptions and holding us back. It's essential to critically assess these influences and distinguish between protective intentions and limiting beliefs.

Embracing the Unknown: Life's potential lies in the unknown, yet the fear of it often hinders us. Revisit the wide-eyed wonder of youth, where the willingness to learn and trust that everything will be okay opens doors to limitless possibilities.

Join us in a conversation that will inspire you to tap into the fearless spirit of your youth, break free from limitations, and rediscover the joy of pursuing endeavors with a sense of wonder and curiosity.

WOTA #230 - Getting Real About Regret

WOTA #230 - Getting Real About Regret

🎙️ What if you Made a Different Decision in Your Life?
In this episode, we tackle the concept of regret and how it plays a part in our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. Sometimes we look at where we are at in life and question if things could have been different. Sometimes we wonder and even wish we made a different choice in the past. This is where regret lives. It is not something we are always aware of.
    Key Takeaways:

To Do It Differently Than You Did It: We sometimes wonder if we made the right choices in life or if we went wrong somewhere. Regret can live in this space and go unchallenged.

Pain and the Idea We Have of Ourselves: Who we think we are is not always what we have attributed to ourselves. It is important to not make the pain we feel our identity.

Letting a Part of Yourself Die: As you move through life there is a likelihood that you will grow and evolve as a person. You'll learn new things and part of you may have to die to move on to the new you. You may have to grieve who you once were in the past.

Appreciating What You Have Now: Often we can take for granted the great things we have in our lives now. Sometimes we think that we are missing something, not realizing it means very little compared to what we have now, but may not recognize.

Not Accepting Who You Truly Are: There is the person that we are today and they did not come to be without a few things happening along the way. Accepting who we are is forgiving ourselves for our lives and releasing ourselves of our perceived mistakes.

In this episode, we take on how life seems to have diverging paths at certain moments in our lives and we wonder what might have happened if we went the other way. We question if we made the right choice and sometimes even make the assumption that we made the wrong one. This can be an idea any of us have that is not something we have fully thought out, but we live with it as a regret that is allowed to exist within us unhealed.
Tune in and take a look at how you can better embrace who you are today and the path you are on. You may come to see that it is the best path of all.
