We Love the OC is a podcast dedicated to the un-ironic love of the 2003 Fox series The OC.
We do a deep dive into one episode per week where we discuss everything from the music and fashion of the episode to the historical and cultural contexts of the time that it aired. Our belief is that this show is not only fun to talk about, but important to talk about because of its place in the culture of mid-2000s America.
Be prepared to think critically, laugh earnestly, and perhaps receive a twinge of nostalgia as we examine the greatest American Teen Drama of all time.
We love the OC, and we think you should love the OC too.

    Episode 11: The Homecoming

    Episode 11: The Homecoming

Welcome to Episode 11 of We Love the OC, where Kirsten has taken it upon herself to make the Thanksgiving meal, and is only keeping it together via a magical pendant. Seth juggles two different women (and fails), Jimmy finds his one true love (ESPN Classic), and Ryan introdues Marissa to his Mexican family (and his s****y brother).

So... Thanksgiving... Big Day... You excited?

    Episode 10: The Perfect Couple

Welcome to the 10th episode of We Love the OC, where Rosa and Caitlin only exist for sight-gags. Come along as we see where the Magic (the Gathering) happens. Rachel makes her move on Sandy (with dumplings), Julie and Caleb try to keep their relationship a secret (and fail), and Summer realizes she has feelings for Seth Cohen (oh no). Come to the floor. There's Pad Thai on the floor...

    Smoke another beer, Chip.

    Episode 9: The Heights

Welcome to the 9th episode of We Love the OC, where mornings are Rosa's time (or they used to be). Join us as we witness the birth of the skee-ball-throwing, carnie-bribing, and deep-kissing Alpha Stern. This week we examine the perfect clap-back from Marissa, Luke crying for the second time in his life, and a ferris wheel ride that defined romance for a generation.

    Episode 8: The Rescue

Welcome to the 8th episode of We Love the OC, where what happened in Mexico, can't stay in Mexico. After 6 weeks off due to the MLB playoffs, we're back in school now, and old rules apply. This week we discuss studying naked (it's a Chino thing), Rachel making her move (there are dumplings on the floor), and Ryan vs Julie (it's all lead up to this).

    Episode 7: The Escape

    Episode 7: The Escape

Welcome to the 7th episode of We Love the OC! While this show has many of the vibes and beats of a traditional season finale, it ends on a cliffhanger while Joe Buck yells about baseball for six weeks. This week we discuss 3 perfect things: the dialogue next to a vending machine, the amazing camera work in a dingy motel, and the ending which still gives us all chills.

Tijuana's hottest club is "Boom Boom", where the beat never stops, IDs are never checked, and what happens there STAYS there... until it doesn't.

    Episode 6: The Girlfriend

    Episode 6: The Girlfriend

Welcome to the 6th episode of We Love the OC. This week we play a game called "Cute or Creepy", as Caleb's 25-year-old girlfriend, and retired model, Gabrielle Gosling makes moves on 15-year-old Ryan. (Hint: its mostly creepy). Sandy railroads his wife, Ryan pushes Marissa into Luke's arms (and bed), and Summer kisses Seth?!

Kerbs also informs us that the Pumpkin Spiced Latte was released this same month. Just. The. Facts.

Hilarious and insightful

I am so glad I found this podcast. It is the perfect show to listen to while watching or rewatching The OC. The chemistry between the hosts is fantastic and I love how the conversations go beyond just recapping episodes to actually analyzing the narrative in a really insightful way.

Great

If you love the O.C. this is THE companion show to it, they’re as enthusiastic about the show and its’ quirks as the biggest fans are. Everybody is clever and funny. Love it.
