    Episode 134 – Unstuff Yourself – Part 2

Part 2 of our extravaganza on combating compulsive eating continues with a podcast that’s on the razors edge (that’ll make sense when you listen).  Inspired by an email from a listener in the United Kingdom, Catherine and Donald give another 4 or 5 hundred tips on both how to stop a compulsive eating episode and how to prevent them from happening in the first place.  Plus, Catherine goes helicopter skiing by accident, Donald asks how many calories are in beaver ears, and people compulsively give us positive reviews.  As a special bonus, more UK pop culture references!

    Episode 133 – Unstuff Yourself – Part 1

In what some are calling part 1 of a Christmas Special in July, Catherine and Donald give their take on how to combat compulsive eating.  Inspired by an email from a listener from “across the pond”, the couple give strategies and tips on what to do when you feel out of control while eating and how not to get out of control in the first place.  They also attempt to insert as many U.K pop culture references as possible.  Plus, Catherine eyes a lonely meringue, Donald is a grown man who eats apple slices, and the couple saves time by using “Insta G.”.

Episode 132 – The Fork Tendencies

Sometimes, we have expectations for ourselves that we just can’t meet.  Getting ourselves to do what we want can oftentimes feel impossible.  Author and Podcaster Gretchen Rubin has developed a framework called “The Four Tendencies” which goes a long-way in explaining why we handle some expectations and just can’t live up to others.  This week, Catherine and Donald talk about how knowing what your tendency is can go a long way towards helping you accomplish your health and fitness goals.  Plus, Donald gets henpecked, Catherine is motivated by stickers, and the couple debate whether Chopin was an Upholder or a Rebel.  It’s riveting!

Episode 131 – The Knights Who Say N.E.A.T.

Episode 131 – The Knights Who Say N.E.A.T.

This week, We Only Look Thin tricks you into learning!  Catherine and Donald talk about the importance of N.E.A.T, but this isn’t your grandfather’s “neat”.  This is Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis.  It’s a super fancy way of saying “all the calories that you burn when you’re NOT doing traditional exercise”.  We think that going to the gym or doing things like running or lifting weights are the best forms of exercise, but it turns out that being active throughout your day may be more important in almost everyone.  All movement matters and it all counts!   Plus, Catherine is a Yuck Mouth, Donald has a condiment problem, and buying a sand timer means you’re serious.
