The Cider House Rules
The Cider House Rules takes a complicated subject (abortion) where there is no black and white answer and discusses it through an entertaining story with intelligence, grace, humor, and humility.

Ender's Game
It’s fast-moving. It’s easy to read. And it’s packed with so much…. feeling. That’s the only way I can describe it. You just empathize so much with little Ender Wiggins, the child that is the story’s main character.

The Girl with the Louding Voice
One of the things I love about this book is the voice. It’s so distinct that you really feel as if you’re talking with the heroine — that she’s a real, live, breathing person.

Long Way Down
Long Way Down is Jason Reynold’s love letter to black boys growing up in violent, disenfranchised environments – which, unfortunately, in this country, is way too many black boys.

Liesl & Po
This is a quirky little fairy tale that’s fun, magical, and sweet. It starts off in a dark, sunless place, but by the end of it, sunlight comes back to the world in a big, bright, beautiful way that will leave you smiling.

Jurassic Park
Movie tech needed time to grow to more adequately capture the awe and wonder and terror of the book. Many of the iconic elements of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th movies were already in play in this first book.

The Cider house
Loved this episode! Very eye opening book. Scary how close it is to reality.
What a great podcast for people who love to read!
I was trying to motivate myself to get out for a run this morning — it was dark and cold and I was feeling tired and blue. I went to my podcast playlist trying to find just the right thing to get me out the door. Nothing beckoned. Then I recalled that a friend had recommended We Should All Be Bookworms. I thought, "Maybe that is just the right thing." And it was!
The host is so warm, charming, smart, and absolutely made me want to read the book, which I never have. She brilliantly balanced giving the listener sufficient context (about the author, the plot, the characters, the issues in the book) while still leaving me hungry enough to go read the book ourselves.
The Round House
Excellent introduction to the book. Very clear and precise. Makes reading funk
