Customer Reviews
"The D&D Podcast for Everyone"
When I first started listening to We Speak Common—around episode 10 if memory serves—my first impressions were of a surprisingly polished show with a great blend of casual conversation, theorycrafting, and in-depth mechanical discussion. "Wow," I thought, "these guys really sound like they know what they’re talking about."
I feel it's important to note that at the time, I was, by my own estimation, a beginner- to intermediate-level D&D player—not terribly knowledgeable, but experienced enough to make it through a session without any major issues. That being the case, there were moments in the beginning where the discussion got away from me, but even at my level, there were lessons to be learnt from Ben and Joe's chats. I’ve since gone back through those old episodes, and just as I expected, even with a much more thorough understanding of the system, there was still more for me to learn.
That’s the great thing about this podcast, you see; there’s something here for anyone with even a vague interest in D&D. It's even reflected in the show's official tagline: "The D&D podcast for everyone, because here, we speak common."
Now, nearly three years and one major rebranding later, I’m happy to report that the same air of casual professionalism that drew me to the show in the first place is still going strong. What started as a weekly chat between two friends has since morphed into an ambitious multi-part project that never ceases to impress me with its hosts' continuing creativity and dedication. Whenever somebody asks for D&D-related podcast recommendations, it has been, and will always be, my go-to answer. All in all, I’m proud to say I’m a listener of We Speak Common.
TL;DR—No matter your level of experience with Dungeons & Dragons, I think you’ll find something for you here.
Awesome D&D podcast
I just started listening to this podcast from the very beginning and was instantly impressed by the content. These guys nailed it from the first episode and I’m excited to make it through the whole back catalog. They have already helped me with every aspect of being a new DM, something that I’ll always be grateful for. 😁
Great stuff
One of the best DnD podcasts around - always interesting and fun.
