Helps With Reframing the Idea of Wealth into the Idea of Family Wellbeing
25/01/2019
As an aging GennX female dealing with ongoing family wealth management issues, I was surprised and delighted by the the numerous "next step" options set forth by the contributors in this series. Although I was first compelled to go straight to the "famlies and handling conflict" podcast because everyone wants to "solve" things right away, I actually found myself gleaning more from the podcasts with titles that didnt's speak to me at first. For instance, turns out, Jay Hughes' podcast recognizes the role of women in the new wealth landscape and the fact that families won't really learn how to become collectively empowered until they learn how everyone in the family actually learns and absorbs information (Hughes recommends electing a CLO, a Chief Learning Officer to help with this process)...Is it graphs, is it text, is it face to face cues? With this in mind, I also appreciated Attorney Patricia Annino's contribution and her redefinition of "estate planning" to include more than just tax prep for families. (She has one story to tell that is worthy of a film noir...) For a lot of women, just hearing a woman speak clearly and proficiently about topics such as the Prince Charles Syndrome (Sustained Competency) is indeed their preferred method of learning. If this podcast series could use any improvement it would be to have more of these female voices at the forefront. I'll stay posted.
