Welcoming your Authentic Self with Michelle Welsch The Dream Beyond with Nik Tarascio

    • Self-Improvement

For most of my life, I was moving fast enough that I could never be bored. Only to find out what was happening was more of an indicator that I couldn't be with myself.

If I had to hear what was happening in my head, it was the worst soundtrack I could imagine. But what if slowing down and allowing spaciousness are the keys to fulfillment?

Today's guest is Michelle Welsch, a writer and business coach who left her life and career in New York City to move to Nepal over a decade ago. What started as a volunteer trip became much more as she founded Learning House, a community learning center.

Michelle shares her journey of self-discovery through living abroad. She dives into the challenges of adjusting to life in a foreign country and culture and how it helped shape her values of patience, curiosity, and giving people permission to be their true selves.

We discuss the importance of dropping expectations and being open to life's changes when moving somewhere new. Michelle also offers advice on building a tribe through intentional values.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed our conversation. Thanks for tuning in.

“Fulfillment can be your truest expression of you, however that looks. And it’s not necessarily about what you create or what you build or what you make or give, but it’s just about can you be your truest self? Can you be you completely?” - Michelle Welsch

In The Episode:
-How to strategize for the future
-Allowing space for playing and making mistakes
-Balancing strategy and playfulness
-Is a slow life associated with true fulfillment?
-Advice for building your own tribe
