10 Alarming Signs Your Body Needs More Magnesium

If you've ever experienced unexpected discomfort during the night, you might already suspect that something's off. But did you know that your body could be crying out for more magnesium? This mineral is a powerhouse for so many vital functions in our bodies, yet nearly half of us aren’t getting enough of it. Magnesium is crucial for everything from energy production to overall health, and when your levels are low, it can lead to a cascade of issues—many of which we tend to overlook or blame on aging. Take muscle cramps, for example. Those painful, unexpected spasms are one of the most common signs of magnesium deficiency. And it doesn’t stop there. Low magnesium levels can also manifest as various symptoms affecting your daily life, from your mood to energy levels, and even more serious health concerns. In fact, studies have shown that boosting your magnesium intake can significantly impact your overall well-being, improving several aspects of health that you might not expect. So, what can you do? Start by reassessing your magnesium intake. Many food sources are rich in this mineral, and I'll share some of my favorites. But let's be real—most of us need to supplement to get those levels up. I take magnesium every night before bed and keep a topical magnesium product on hand for occasional use. It's all about finding what works for you and staying consistent. Don't ignore those little signals your body sends you. If anything I've mentioned sounds familiar tune in to learn more. It might be time to rethink your magnesium levels and learn more about this essential mineral's impact on your health. Hormones and Heart Disease: A Vital Conversation with Dr. Felice Gersh

"Estrogen isn’t just a 'sex hormone'—it’s the life hormone. It’s the key to keeping your heart, brain, and body healthy and vibrant for decades beyond menopause." – Dr. Felice Gersh In this eye-opening episode of the Well Beyond 40 podcast, I sit down with Dr. Felice Gersh, a leading expert in integrative medicine and a trailblazer in hormone therapy, to tackle one of the most critical yet overlooked health risks for women—heart disease. While breast cancer often dominates the conversation, heart disease remains the number one killer of women, particularly after menopause. Dr. Gersh sheds light on the powerful role that certain hormones play in protecting our bodies and why it’s essential to rethink how we approach hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as we age. Our discussion is not just groundbreaking—it's life-changing. We explore which hormone makes the most dramatic impact on our bodies as we age, leading to increased risks of heart disease, stroke, and even cognitive decline. But here's the silver lining: it's never too late to take action. Whether you’re 50, 60, or even 70, Dr. Gersh provides compelling evidence that starting hormone therapy later in life can still offer significant benefits, and what crucial steps you can take to support your hormone receptors. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s safe to start HRT years after menopause, or if you’ve been told you’re too old to begin, this episode will give you hope and empower you with the knowledge to take control of your health. And for those who’ve battled breast cancer, Dr. Gersh also addresses the complexities of hormone therapy, discussing when it might be safe and effective, and when alternative approaches are necessary. Tune in to discover why Dr. Felice Gersh is my go-to expert on hormones and aging, and learn how to take proactive steps to protect your heart, your health, and your future. Don’t miss out—this episode is packed with pearls of wisdom that every woman needs to hear. Clearing Out the Cellular Clutter: with Dr. Gregory Kelly

“Aging isn't just about the years that pass—it's about how you spend those years. The secret lies in maintaining your cells’ vitality, and that’s what we’re diving into today.” — Dr. Greg Kelly In this eye-opening episode, I sit down with Dr. Greg Kelly to explore the fascinating world of senescent cells—those "zombie cells" that linger in our bodies as we age, contributing to the aches, pains, and general decline many of us experience. If you've ever wondered why you start to feel "old" well before you're ready to admit it, this conversation will shed light on the cellular mechanisms behind aging and what you can do to turn back the clock. Dr. Kelly takes us on a journey through the history and science of cellular senescence, explaining how these cells behave like unwelcome houseguests—sticking around longer than they should and causing all sorts of trouble. But there's good news: senolytics, compounds that help clear out these lingering cells, can play a transformative role in how we age. For women in their 40s and beyond, understanding and addressing senescent cells could be the key to unlocking healthier, more vibrant years ahead. We also dive into practical steps you can take to rejuvenate your cells, from the role of exercise to the emerging science behind intermittent senolytic dosing. Dr. Kelly even shares exciting insights on how senolytics might not only help with common issues like joint pain but could also have unexpected benefits like rejuvenating your hormonal health. Whether you're already feeling the weight of aging or just want to stay ahead of the curve, this episode offers actionable strategies to help you maintain your youthful vitality. Don’t miss out on this deep dive into the future of aging and how you can harness it to live better, longer.   FULL show notes: https://www.jjvirgin.com/senolytics Reignite Wellness™ Magnesium Body Calm: https://reignitewellness.com/products/magnesium-body-calm Qualia Senolytic Placebo-Controlled Clinical Study Results: https://qualialife.com/studies/qualia-senolytic-placebo-controlled-clinical-study-results Shop Oura Rings: https://ouraring.com/ Reignite Wellness™ Magnesium Body Calm: https://reignitewellness.com/products/magnesium-body-calm Episode Sponsors:  Try Timeline: https://www.timelinenutrition.com/shop?rfsn=7082975.4b75243 Use code JJ10 for 10% off all products Go to qualialife.com/VIRGINWELLNESS to try Qualia risk-free for up to 100 days and code VIRGINWELLNESS for an additional 15% off
