BITE-SIZE PERSONAL STORIES OF SURVIVING LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES: Hosted by Luke Colson and Kyle Wise, we feature weekly guests and explore extreme personal life changing experiences and the journey emotional and physical recovery. Each guest discusses their story of how their lives were turned upside down, by unexpected events. Stories like surviving a car crash, surviving abuse, being paralyzed in an accident, witnessing a crime.. and many more! Luke and Kyle will take an honest, raw, yet positive and hopeful approach, to really find out how these sudden events have effected our guests, and hear about the tools they use to overcome the subsequent struggle and adversity. We will focus on the journey to success and recovery, and hear stories of how our guests overcame trauma, and mental health challenges like ptsd, anxiety depression and phobias that have often lead to addiction, alcoholism, and disorders. While we will focus on the events themselves, and the lasting effects of these moments, our goal in this podcast is to concentrate on the positive journeys of resilience, recovery and hope that comes from these extraordinary stories. Join us for the ride of your life, and other peoples too! Why listen? We hope that our listeners will feel comfort, empowerment, strength and hope through this community of people and the stories we share. Everyone’s experiences are unique, but the circumstances around recovery and healing can be a shared and comforting journey. S3 EP13: Kate's Story - Dementia, Loss, And Hope!
Kate Kunkel is a certified Brain Heath specialist. She found herself in this vocation, in her mid sixties, because her mother died from the most cruel of diseases - dementia. Losing her one piece at a time was the most terrible thing she has ever experienced, and she swore that she would do whatever she could to ensure that nobody else ever had to suffer that fate. And that no more daughters would have to lose their mother like Kate and her Sister. Everything Kate does, she does because of this, and so, she works as a brain coach and encourage others to do whatever it takes to protect your brain. This is an amazing, heartbreaking, yet inspiring story and hope and courage. Thank you Kate.

S3 EP12: Naomi's Story - Single and Childless, Not By Choice
Naomi Geidel uses the terms, 'extended singleness' and 'childless, not by choice' as she describes her life up to this point. As the years went by, and especially as she hit her forties, Naomi went into a very dark place, and the realization of a life without a partner, or a child, became a heavy reality that she couldn't seem to deal with. This 'loss', as she describes it, has touched every area of her life and in the depths of grief it changed the confidence she had in herself and most things in the world. It was super hard and not pretty, but she leaned into this difficult season, and has come out the other side .... not perfect, yet stronger....not fully healed, yet healing. Its a fascinating and thoroughly engaging episode, and we could have talked for hours! From the bottom of the depths of darkness, she is experiencing joy again, and has the energy to create and see better days ahead. Thank you Naomi!!

S3 EP11: Fred's Story - The Summer I Died Twenty Times
Fred Rutman was experiencing sudden black outs, and literally falling over where he stood. He would awake with bruises, scrapes and confusion, and no one could figure out what was going on. It was the summer of 2009 and these episodes would continue to baffle doctors until finally Fred was brought into hospital to have a digital device and camera attached to him, so that the medical team could actually catch one of these blackouts as they happened. The is a medical trauma story like no other, as Fred takes us through the events leading up to his diagnosis, the journey through adversity, and the resilience he would need over the coming years. Fred is funny, and full of great humor and sarcasm, and we just love this episode and are glad you are still with us Fred!

It's so Real. And Relatable
Thanks for showing real life, and not just that, but the HOPE. Love your easy conversational style that meets people where they are. Grateful for both of you!
Love this show!
OMG! I just found you. I just listened to S2 Ep40: Terina’s Story about escaping the Mormon church! I was never a Mormon, but I did grow up in strict evangelical religion. I could so relate to her story, and I loved your questions and compassion. I also love your after show bonus reflections. I feel so seen! Going to binge you now.
