    007: The Power of Quitting

    007: The Power of Quitting

We live in a world that chastises quitting... and it's all well intended. You don't want to quit at life obviously, or give up on the pursuit of love, or even quit when you have people depending on you. BUT- there is a time where quitting SHOULD BE a choice, and that is when what you are investing in is not giving you any return on your investment... when investing any further would actually take AWAY FROM what would make you happy, what you truly desire, or what is best for you and your family. So, this episode is about quitting, and when and why you SHOULD.

    006: Crawl, Walk, Run

    006: Crawl, Walk, Run

How come when babies are learning to roll over, sit up, crawl, walk, or run, we praise them for achieving that milestone, but yet when it comes to our own milestones that build upon each other, we chastise ourselves for not making it to the next level already? How convoluted is that? That is what is discussed in this episode, along with my goals for the weeks, aspirations for what is to follow, and how I'm focusing on celebrating even the small victories this time around.

005: 30 Social Media Posts in 30 Minutes

Content creation is a sore subject for a lot of entrepreneurs. How in the world can someone come up with so many ideas of things to talk about that are engaging and relevant to the brand? I get it.... it can be tough, so tough that some people just don't post at all and get so discouraged.

Well my friend, I am here to help. In this episode, I will teach you how I come up with ideas for 30 posts in less than 30 minutes. I'll give you the outline for what I came up with for my personal profile (@jerichadethlefs) AND we will walk through my brainstorming of my posts for @mabelandauberry.

004: Day 1 of Building an Empire

004: Day 1 of Building an Empire

Am I some genius business guru? No... probably not. BUT, I am someone that has built a few businesses, both for myself and others, and over the years I have learned a few things that I wish I would've known from day 1.

This episode lays out MY process in building a new brand... specifically a store that sells multiple products... and how I have started growing it.

    1. Decide what you want to sell. You don't have to know all the nitty gritty specific details quite yet, but get a general overview. Are you selling a particular service? Clothing? Shoes? Pet supplies? Art? Digital Content? etc.

    2. Name your business. This is where most people drag their feet and hit the breaks. What if I choose the wrong name? What if I hate it tomorrow? What if it doesn't represent my brand the way I wanted it to? STOP. Here's the deal.... YOU. CAN. CHANGE. IT. Odds are, your business isn't going to be a big huge success the day you launch where millions of people suddenly know you in an instant. That kind of success takes time, which means YOU HAVE TIME. Name it, and if you hate it later, change it. Simple. But, DON'T SKIP THIS STEP. Naming your new business makes it real in your mind. It becomes a something, not just an idea, and it is easier to commit to it, grow it, and love it.

    3. Decide what your business is going to be about. Let's say you decide to open a clothing store. What is your clothing store about? What is it's story? Why is it here? Just a generic clothing store doesn't separate you from the crowd... but a clothing store that promotes body positivity and female empowerment does. Catch my drift? So, decide what you're going to be about... keeping in mind that this is something you can always change in the future... and as a matter of fact, you SHOULD as your business grows and evolves to the changing world. Give yourself room to pivot.

    4.  Design your brand. This is the next step that normally trips up a lot of entrepreneurs, causing them to be paralyzed in fear of choosing the "wrong branding"... Here's the deal. I repeat: YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE IT. You aren't going to scare your customers away because you decide to change your branding, that's just ridiculous. Make a choice, and go with it. Decide on a color scheme, a logo, a theme, etc. I like to make this myself because I think it's fun, but you can always hire someone to help you.

    5. Buy your domain. I HIGHLY recommend using Namecheap to do this. They have the best customer support I have ever dealt with in any business.

    6. Claim your social media handles. In today's world, if you want to grow and compete in the marketplace, you NEED to be on social media. Keep following the podcast for help in growing these channels.

    7. Design your social media pages. Upload your new logo, fill out your "about" sections and your bio. Maybe invite your mom and husband to like your pages like I did, lol. They are now real, ready to grow into your new empire.

    8. Decide what type of website you want. Do your research here and experiment. If you are growing an online store, I recommend Shopify. Out of all the platforms, it is the easiest I have found so far.

    9. Batch social media content. Listen to Episode 5 for exactly how I do that.

003: Life Changes to Search For Peace

003: Life Changes to Search For Peace

Recently, I took a step back from my network marketing business after 2 years of building it. It was scary, but it was necessary after evaluating my emotional state... "checking the temperature" of my surroundings so to speak.

I realized that if being excellent at this business meant sacrificing attention to my kiddos, sacrificing that stillness I NEED, sacrificing once in a lifetime moments with my family... then I didn't want to be excellent. It isn't what I wanted anymore, I no longer felt like that's where I should be and I wanted to create something that was MINE.

Have you ever felt that way? Felt that if that is what success looked like then you didn't want to be successful? It's an intimidating decision to make, especially after you have invested your time and effort into growing something. BUT, as I sat there, at the point of what I thought might be a depression, I realized that perhaps those feelings were telling me that I was no longer supposed to be there... so, I did what I do well... I made a change.

    002: The Obligatory Origin Story

    002: The Obligatory Origin Story

Well, here it is... the obligatory "this is who I am, where I'm from, and how I got here" episode. The one that tells you why you're even listening to me to begin with. I don't necessarily think my store is far different from other people who have done what I've done... up and quit my job without a backup plan while I was a full-time single mother who had just escaped an abusive relationship to walk blindly into entrepreneurship that would allow for the freedom to travel the country to end up finding the love of her life who was actually her middle school crush... you know, that 'ole tale.

Making a leap of faith into working for myself is what led me to the life of my dreams. That is where this passion comes from, and that is why I'm on here, blabbing to you about what I've done and what I'm doing. Hopefully, you'll catch a little inspiration to help make your own dreams a reality.
