199 - The truth about working with your spouse

199 - The truth about working with your spouse

We’ve been working together in some capacity for almost 15 years! In that time, we’ve learned how to communicate, navigate each other’s emotions, but we still run into difficult moments like we did this week.

In this episode, we want to share our experience as a couple who works together (on two businesses!) but also how you can apply some of our lessons to running your own business, whether you have a partner or work with freelancers (or just on your own!)

We’re going to talk about the importance of having more discussions that you think you need, how to navigate perfectionism (over and over again), communicating during rough patches, and recommitting to your values.

198 - How to choose when you have lots of ideas

198 - How to choose when you have lots of ideas

What do you do when you have a TON of ideas and all of them feel like they need your attention? How do you sort them, prioritize them,  and schedule them?

Thanks to listener Leah W. for submitting this week’s podcast topic! This is a timely one for us as of recording because we’re overflowing with ideas for our two businesses (Teachery and Wandering Aimfully). And, even with our advantage of being a 2-person operation, we’re still finding it hard to carve out time for every idea.

So what do we do? Well, that’s what we discuss in this ep! We’ll cover our signature “Big Ass List™” and then go through the steps to get your ideas out of your head and planned on your calendar to get done in a methodical way.

197 - 7 *magical* tools that've changed our biz in the past year

We thought it would be fun to share the tools that we’re super excited to be using in 2024! Most of these are used for biz purposes, but a few them overlap with life too.

If you’re a fan of the video game MarioKart (any version!) then you’ll know about the items you can collect in the “?” blocks throughout each race. As we shared the seven tools, Jason assigned a MarioKart item to each of them to make it fun! Here’s a recap of the tools and the MarioKart items… because… why not?? 😅

    1. Chat-GPT (👻)
    2. Midjourney (🐢)
    3. Castmagic (🔴)
    4. ScreenStudio (🍄)
    5. Tally (🔴🔴🔴)
    6. Whimsical (🍌🍌🍌)
    7. Framer (⭐️)8. Bonus: Arc Search (🔵)

Hope you learned about a few new tools and found this episode interesting! Let us know if you’d like to hear us share more episodes like this one in the future?

194 - A paid coaching program requires 4 crucial parts

194 - A paid coaching program requires 4 crucial parts

For the last 5 years we’ve run a paid coaching program that includes a community. During that time, we’ve learned a lot about what works and doesn’t work and thought we’d break down in this episode.

We go over 4 crucial parts: The Audience, The Offer, The Community, and The Launches.

Not only do we share what has worked for us in each of those four categories, but we also share some ideas if we were to start over from the beginning. How would we build an audience from nothing? Would we still lean on email marketing? How would we facilitate a thriving community? And what would our sales and launch strategy be?

All of those questions and more covered this week! We hope you enjoy this chat and if you know anyone looking to start a paid coaching program or community, pass this episode on to them!

One of my favorite business podcasts!!

This ranks really high up there in my list of favorite podcasts for creative business owners. Jason and Caroline are a breath of fresh air in what often feels like a very crowded online space. They blend their quirky sense of humor with practical, spot-on conversations and insights on everything from running a business to navigating a relationship to working as a creative to making perfect cinnamon rolls. Definitely a must-listen for any creative small business/service providers/digital product creators.
