100 - What Makes a “Good” Mom, Anyway? How to Avoid the Trap of Trying to Do It All The Calm Mom - Burnout, Anxiety, Nervous System, Mindset, Self-Care, Parenting, Work-Life Balance

    • Parenting

In our 100th episode (woot woot!!), I’m joined by Lauren, our podcast producer extraordinaire, to discuss what it means to be a “good” mom.  Do we need to throw Pinterest-worthy birthday parties (no), feed our kiddos only organic (also no), or always keep our cool (nope again)?

It does mean we love deeply.  We do our best.  We show up even when we don’t feel like it.  We own our shortcomings and mistakes. We have a lot of laughs.  We wipe tears and kiss boo-boos and say bedtime prayers.  We find the joy amidst the chaos.
Lauren and I take a walk down memory lane and discuss imposter syndrome and the limiting beliefs that crept in over the launch of the podcast and how we navigated that season of growth.

As busy moms, we can get caught in a trap of trying to do it all and oftentimes our drive as high achievers can lead us to overwhelm and burnout. Lauren and I discuss how we’ve managed what we realistically expect of ourselves and how setting better boundaries has been key to our consistency.

Listen in as I also cast vision for what’s to come for The Calm Mom Podcast.  And finally, THANK YOU for joining us for 100 episodes!  Come celebrate with us!
