Promising but with some flaws

This is superbly-crafted audio journalism, but I have too say, it seems slightly amiss that they don’t feature any tape with the actual residents of East New York.

I get that it’s as much a profile of Kevin H. as it is an exploration of the neighborhood, but the whole “It’s terrible, it’s a mess, this horrible thing happened while I was here” starts to get tired around episodes 3 and 4. I found myself really wanting more voices in the story, and the sensationalism of ENY’s legacy almost feels fetishized at times. Like “This is so bad and terrible, but I’m not going to feature the people who actually LIVE here,” it seems to erase them from the picture. I hope they can amend this if the series continues.

Can't understand a word

I can't understand a word Kevin H says. He rambles like a guy on speed and makes about as much sense. What's the point of this podcast?

Pointless rambles

One of the oddest pieces of journalism I've ever heard. One disturbed man repeatedly spouting off questionable statistics and providing no real answers or solid information. Stories from residents are absent. Disjointed, no narrative structure at all... Just the ramblings of a broken man.
