Welcome to “What Unites Us,” a podcast about building businesses meant to last. We’re your hosts: Taylor Justice and Esther Farkas. We lead Unite Us, a technology company that connects health and social care. We became curious about the way other leaders develop, innovate, inspire, and lead – to drive change. We’ve invited an incredible lineup of visionaries to share their experiences, whether they created a new industry, turned an existing one on its head, or breathed new life into an old brand. Why do some ideas stick and others flop? Where does grit come from? What kind of leaders create generational change? Our guests are the boldest trailblazers of our time on their failures, their wins and lessons learned. We promise we’re going to get real and have some fun, because as entrepreneurs and business leaders ourselves, we know that being authentic, showing vulnerability and remaining positive are keys to unlocking success. Down to earth - Real Talk
I absolutely loved the conversation with Seema Verma. As a fellow immigrant, I love hearing stories of how other immigrants have navigated their life in the U.S.
She is someone who has held one of the most important positions in the country and yet she brought such a fresh, down-to-earth, and honest approach to the conversation.
There were a few opportunities where she could have made popular political statements/stances and she didn’t. Great episode!
To Big to Fix- To Big Not to Fix!
It was good to hear about Medicaid/Medicare from the top down- as I have experienced working with it from the bottom up. Good to see the realization that we do need quality of care and sustainability over the long term- and appreciate the acknowledgment it should be there for everyone- as many have spent years paying into it. Shocking Stat- that funds where to run out in 2026- but got pushed out to 2028 because of the number of older people in Medicare that died in the pandemics- yikes.
Effervescent
Looking forward to more of these effervescent episodes. From community foundations of health (AKA social determinants of health) to the inside scoops from the rooms where it happens, I’ve already learned so much. Keep these bubbly episodes coming! :-)
