Shannon Curtis writes and records artpop music; Jamie Hill produces and mixes music for all sorts of artists in independent and alternative-music spaces. They're both live performers and writers and authors and speakers ... oh, and also, they're married!

For the last fifteen years, Shannon and Jamie have been building on their shared delusion that a married pair of working artists can make a successful life together—far outside of the music industry mainstream.

The Misfit Stars Podcast is a weekly conversation between Shannon and Jamie, in which they talk with one other about what's on their minds at the moment. Topics include life, work, music, current events, social justice, sobriety, creativity, and whatever else emerges from the hive mind of their Misfit Stars community.

The Misfit Stars Podcast, as with everything else that Shannon and Jamie do, is supported by the people who find it valuable. If this is you, please become a supporter at misfitstars.com/support!

On this week’s episode: we celebrate the first instance of actual legal accountability for the disgraced former president; what it means and doesn’t mean that the WHO ended the Covid-19 emergency declaration; how the name David illustrates the absurd level of gender inequality in business; white supremacists' shocking (how are we still shocked?) and gruesome love affair with a murderous dictator; and how kindness cuts through all the bullshit.

    “The Need for Chaos.” 🌪️

On this week’s episode: yes, we’re talking about that infamous guy who was arraigned on a few dozen felony crimes this week, and since we’re not legal experts, we’re talking about the thoughts and feelings we have about it from the perspective of regular people who believe that no one is above the law; the truth about inflation; the liberating gift that trans and nonbinary people give to all of us; and a reflection on belonging and purpose.

So special!

Two beautiful people and a wonderful community talking about things that really matter - this podcast helps me process a lot of my own experiences. Since COVID arrived, my listening time has decreased significantly, but this is one that I purposefully make time to keep up with. Thanks for all that you are offering your fellow Misfits, Shannon and Jamie!
