If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. This is the most lavish display of love—that the Creator of heaven and earth sent His only Son to save His creation. We repeatedly rejected Him while helplessly trying to fill the God-sized void. But we chose things that would never satisfy or save us. And that Son, called Jesus, willingly laid down His life and died for our sins. Through His perfect sacrifice, we now have access to the gifts of salvation, freedom, and adoption into God’s family.
