    The Road to Aberlour

    The Road to Aberlour

Whiskey Business went on a virtual journey and crossed a bridge back to “scotch whiskey” with the assistance of National
Ambassador for Aberlour Scotch, Gemma Cole. The trip was delightful, educational and as I mentioned a nice bridge back to single malt whiskey.
Aberlour will bring a lot of people back to the Single Malt fold as Gemma took Dino and the boys through 3 tastings: The Aberlour 12 year Speyside Single Malt, the Aberlour A’bunadh and the Aberlour A’Bunadh Alba. Our favorite? Tune in or watch on YouTube to find out. If you are looking for a smooth transition to reacquaint yourself with some single malt scotch, look and sip right here!

    Three Chairs. No Waiting.

    Three Chairs. No Waiting.

Whiskey Business went on location this week to one of the last bastions of public opinion: a barber shop. Thom Checkler, owner of The Olde Village Barbershop in Worthington, Ohio talked about how the barbershop has always been a “safe place” for opinion, rhetoric and debate and also how that’s been slightly altered during the current pandemic. Thom and Dino covered a lot of ground while he was in the chair: family, politics, Covid, sports, and some surprising insights into religion. A guest bottle of Tom Foolery...made here in Ohio...also found its way into the chair. Dino got a free hair trim out of the visit, but you’ll get even more after listening OR watching this latest installment of Whiskey Business.

    Everything Old Is New Again

Whiskey Business has the unique pleasure of hosting a podcast with Old Overholt and talking with rye specialist, Bradford Lawrence and American Whiskey Ambassador, Beth Burrows. Old Overholt has taken steps to OverHAUL their classic rye whiskey by moving it to 86 proof and by releasing a magnificent 114 proof. They also gave Dino and Co. a sneak peek at an 11 year old rye coming out soon. It’s a fun, informative and funny podcast for rye lovers, whiskey enthusiasts, and American Spirit History buffs that will go down smooth.

    A Season Demora-lized

    A Season Demora-lized

The World’s Most Superstitious Buckeye Fan, Bill DeMora returned for his 5th appearance on the podcast (which we humorously refer to as Cinco DeMora). But this year he is "The World’s Most Disappointed Buckeye Fan" since the Big Ten has postponed their season. Filled with opinions, rants, ravings and unsound reasoning, this may be one of Bill’s best appearances yet. Coupled with an election year in the wings and his work with the Democratic Party this podcast holds back nothing. Well...art least Billy doesn’t. The guest bottle is much more easy going as we try both the bourbon and rye from Colorado's 10th Mountain Distillery. Prepare to listen, laugh, and...maybe loathe. Cheers!

A Remarkable Podcast for Intelligent Drinkers

A friend suggested that I listen to Whiskey Business, and I am now obsessed with it. The concept is witty & briskly fun, with the episodes featuring unexpected moments of emotional warmth amidst stories that are brilliantly engaging. Host Dino has a raging comic streak, a curiosity which propels fantastic interviews, and a voice that resonates with a bourbon caress. He shows respect for his guests, while also asking the questions that reveal both heartfelt emotion and underlying amusing base humor. Ralph Scott’s haunting stories had me enthralled, Travis Irvine had me laughing while respecting his journey, Alex Hastie of Ohio v. The World tells truly fascinating stories, and Dino’s mother was one of my very favorite guests on the podcast. I have taken umbrage with some of the comments made about agriculture, but perhaps this is an opportunity for Dino to interview a farmer to understand their perspective. Thank you to the Whiskey Business team for providing such a remarkable, educational, and amusing podcast!

Hits all the marks!

This podcast just keeps getting better and better. It hits all the marks: funny, poignant, informative. Dino is great at getting his guests to open up and share their stories. He knows when to sit back and listen, when to dig deeper, and when to let loose. And great tips on the whiskeys, too! Keep ‘em coming!
