Why Do People Kill? Lt Joe Kenda Explains The "Killer Triggers‪"‬ The Chauncey DeVega Show

    • Politics

Lt. Joe Kenda (ret.) was a detective with the Colorado Springs Police Department for twenty years. During that time, he solved 356 of the 387 murder cases he investigated.
Kenda is the host of the new discovery+ show American Detective.
Lt. Kenda’s new book is Killer Triggers. His previous book is I Will Find You: Solving Killer Cases from My Life Fighting Crime.
Prior to his new show, Kenda was the host of the beloved TV show Homicide Hunter on the Investigation Discovery (ID) network.
Kenda explains the randomness of life and why murder and chaos are often indiscriminate in who they touch – and why. He also debunks common myths about serial killers and other evildoers. In addition, Kenda offers some personal stories about what it is like to pursue, arrest, and then interrogate such people. And Kenda shares some of the most disturbing and provocative stories of true crime from his new book Killer Triggers.
Lt. Kenda and Chauncey DeVega also reflect on their shared love of Michael Mann’s crime-classic film Heat.
Chauncey DeVega reflects on last week’s (alleged) Atlanta hate crime mass murder targeting Asians and Asian Americans and America’s deep inability to admit the truth about racism and white supremacy. He also explains how a toxic mix of racism, guns, white right-wing Christian fascism, sexism, and other cultural poisons came together in the Atlanta hate crime and the Age of Trump and beyond.
