Can These Hardcore Energy Drinks Please Stop Cosplaying As Seltzer?

On today's episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren start things off with a Wellness Check.
Lauren gives us an update on her alcohol free journey and has an on-air epiphany about how much caffeine is actually in energy drinks. Then, they close on this week's Scoop Du Jour in which Halle Berry revealed that her doctor misdiagnosed her with "the worst case of herpes he's ever seen" when in fact, it was just perimenopause. This leads into a discussion about how there's not enough research in the medical field when it comes to women's bodies and women's needs.

How Do I Incorporate Health Promoting Behaviors Without Obsessing?

How Do I Incorporate Health Promoting Behaviors Without Obsessing?

On today’s episode of Back For Seconds, Sami shares with Aleen that she’s been feeling a bit run down lately just from the general stresses of life, some slow release grief and possibly even age. Why is it so hard to just to literally stand up every now and then and to feed ourselves? Aleen offers up some solutions such as pointing resources in the direction of goals. Would a part time housekeeper or assistant be the solution? Honestly though, why can’t we just have adult nannies? Finally, we learn that Sami weighed herself for the first time in four years at her annual physical but the number on the scale didn’t affect her the way it used to. Now, she’s motivated to add health promoting behaviors to her life without the emotional charge she once felt in the past. You can do it, Sami!

Has Little Treat Culture Gone Too Far?

Has Little Treat Culture Gone Too Far?

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren review a recent Fortune article claiming that Gen Z is snacking instead of having balanced meals as a result of inflation. Has “Lil Treat” culture gone too far? Luckily, we have an in-house Gen-Z expert to help us better understand; please welcome Send Help Content Manager, Izzy Snow. The three chat all things snacks but also boy bands. Finally, Emily and Lauren close us out with a Dear DST from a listener who is becoming increasingly frustrated with people in her life assuming that her health journey is a weight loss journey and she’s asking how to redirect the conversation away from her body size.

    Oprah-Zempic

    Oprah-Zempic

On Today’s Episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren recap Oprah’s recent TV special “Shame, Blame, and The Weight Loss Revolution”. They watched it so you don’t have to and they are both traumatized but also somehow laughing? Segment by segment, they recap what was said and then provide some context and their honest reactions. Confusion abounds. Finally they close with some statements from experts who found the special to be problematic. This episode is a bit of a wild ride and emotions run high so the hosts did just want to share a quick note: “We definitely do not pass judgment on anyone taking these drugs for weight loss. Not even a little bit. We just found the whole way this special was done to be manipulative, confusing and shame-inducing.”

Lauren is a breath of fresh air!

Loving the dynamic between Lauren and Emily. I think they both bring a lot to the table and their conversations feel more aligned with “OG” DST. I appreciate how fat friendly it is (especially without excluding or demeaning anyone else) and I think listeners of all sizes will find something of value from both of these hosts :)

Love Lauren and Emily

Obsessed with everything they have to say, they are the coolest and I learn from them so much. Love listening to this every week and hearing their thoughts.

Sadly unsubscribing

I hope you find the audience you’re looking for with the rebrand because as an OG DSTer I can’t listen to the show anymore. It’s not fun. It feels like I’m being shamed constantly. The guests are biased or unrelated to the topic. Was trying to hold out but this show has become unbearable and unrelatable.
