Thank you

I've only listened to 2 teriffic episodes so far, but the episode with Desiree Adaway alone is worth five stars and a sincere thank you. Can't wait to listen to them all.

Tough

I came here with an open heart mind and ears wanting to look at my own racism and landed on the Catrice Jackson interview - I imagine this might be wonderful for non-white identifying people who are hearing their experiences voiced, but when white women are lumped into a category, calling them all "Beckys," which the interviewer and interviewee both think is hilarious, and which they repeat ad infinitum, seems... well aren't we all trying to move beyond alienating language? "Becky is trying to hijack your destiny". Okay, so if I am Becky, I want to know what I did, or when this manifests, so I can shut this behavior down within my self. But when you mock a whole group, that's when you start to limit your audience. I subsequently listened to the Desiree Adaway episode and found it to be really great, with excellent points ("guilt is useless")... maybe the Catrice Jackson interview is just not a good starting point for people of a lack-of-color. Or maybe you only want to reach people who already share your point of view. But as Ms. Adaway says, "We are all in this together."
