    Gone But Not Forgotten

    Gone But Not Forgotten

As we celebrate being Thankful with our families, we want to thank you listeners who have come week after week to support us. This week we share stories of mysterious disappearances and make a special announcement. Dana tells us about the weird case of Ryan Singleton. His disappearance and subsequent discovery will have you scratching your head.  Nydia tells us about the coincidental circumstances under which another American blonde goes missing in Aruba. Was Robyn Gardener murdered? Was she trafficked? Cindy shares some incredible lost and found stories that will make you believe in magic again.

For dinner this week, Cindy went with a theme of The Last Supper. She made a bone in prime rib with a caramelized garlic and goat cheese tart and pumpkin shaped dinner rolls. She outdid herself on this one. For dessert, she made a boozy pumpkin trifle that made everyone drool. The wine this week was Misfits Wine Company Cycle Buff Beauty Shiraz Cabernet blend.  This was a really cool subtle wine with a dark red appearance and fruity rich flavor.  The label was also a must have.

Home is Where the Bodies Are

Home is Where the Bodies Are

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and many of us dread the thought of this although not as much as the individuals we cover this week.  Dana tells us another story based around the infamous Citadel. This time she focuses on Harry De La Roche Jr. a family annihilator who blamed his death rampage on the hazing he experienced while attending the college.  Nydia tells us about the Dupont de Ligonnes family murder and the mysterious disappearance of their patriach, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes. Cindy lightens the mood with some stories of family mishaps.

For dinner this week, Cindy brought us the comforts of home with a delicious meal of chicken pot pie; potatoes on the side. For dessert, a milk and cookies lasagna. Who knew those words paired so well together. The wine this week was Oyster River Chardonnay.  A tasty wine brought to us straight from a small winery in Warren, Maine.

    GI Jane

    GI Jane

In honor of Veteran’s Day, we decided to bring you stories of women in the military and the challenges they face.  Dana tells us the story of the first female cadet at the Citadel, Shannon Faulkner.  Nydia tells us about the sad and senseless murder of Vanessa  Guillen. Cindy tells us about the best and worst MREs according to the people who serve our country.

For dinner this week, Cindy cooked up a favorite MRE option of  Chili Mac. Hamburger Helper who?  For dessert, she made a military mess hall favorite, Applesauce Cake. The wine this week was Vina Zorzal Garnacha. A juicy wine with a hint of spice and well under $15.

    Statement Of Fact

    Statement Of Fact

When we covered the Signal Mountain Murders we had no idea anyone was listening; especially someone with a dog in the fight. Can you imagine the shock on our faces when Frank Casteel’s son reached out about our episode? Trever Casteel joins us on this episode to set the record straight about his father’s conviction, talk about details of the case, and tell us a little about his book; Statement of Facts: State vs Casteel.

    Haunt Around Here Often?

    Haunt Around Here Often?

It’s October and we wanted to get in the “spirit”; pun intended.  This week we bring you stories of haunted places.  Dana tells us about the Nahanni Valley where some visitors took in the sights while someone took off their heads. This beautiful place has a scary past that few are trying to revisit.  Nydia tells us about Aokigahara Forest, Japan’s Suicide Forest, a place so haunting, it is said to lure its visitors to their deaths. Cindy does our favorite thing, she shares a listener haunting.

For dinner this week, Cindy made us Jack O Lantern stuffed peppers that were worth all the farts. For dessert, she delighted us with chocolate cupcakes just like the ones we used to have at the school Halloween party before the sugar free moms had kids. The wine this week was Shinas Estate The Verdict Cabernet Sauvignon, a fruity red wine with silky smooth berry flavors.

What’s on the Menu

True crime is very popular these days, especially blending it with comedy and podcasting. For sure, Wine Dine and Storytime is both funny and darkly informative. However, the presentation of the content in the context of a dinner party is so creative, simple, and really sets this show apart. The hosts are all entertaining, the cases cover a wide variety of true crime from super dark to chaotic insanity, and it’s easy to follow along even with it being well researched.
