Tahlita Venter is a lecturer at the Department of Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. Her main focus is to help the students apply what they learn in class. She takes them out to the vineyards and let them get their hands dirty. She has a plethora of information when it comes to  terroir, grapevines and weather influences. 

Rudi Schultz is winemaker since 2000 at Thelema Mountain Vineyards. He also produces his own Rudi Schultz wines. His winemaking skills have resulted in many award winning wines over the years. He is a keen surfer and his own wine labels feature some of his favorite waves.  He also enjoys good craft beer. Rudger van Wyk was a Cape Winemakers Guild protege and at the time he worked with Abrie Beeslaar at Kanonkop. He is now at Stark-Conde and was appointed Diner's Club Young Winemaker of the year, 2018.  He and Jose Conde are creating award winning wines just outside Stellenbosch, in Jonkershoek Valley.

Dr Astrid Buica and her colleagues are doing intriguing research on sensory perception, chemical profiling and thiols in red and white wines. With their extensive research they are eliminating guess work and can bring facts to the table. A fascinating discussion to listen to for wine professionals.
