WMW Patrice Lawrence Women Making Waves Podcast

Patrice Lawrence feels there is still a world where writers of colour are still under-represented. Patrice writes stories that reflect all families, families who do not have a voice or face in the world of books. Initially Patrice’s debut book Orange Boy faced resistance from publishers in their reluctance to present this new and different story. It was later shortlisted for the Costa Children’s Book Award and won the bookseller YA Prize and Waterstone’s Prize for Older Children’s Fiction. Patrice Lawrence speaks to Suzie Thorpe.
