    About this episode
In this episode, the guest speaker, Dr. Shivani Gupta, Author, Speaker, Mom, suggests that individuals can take good care of themselves by incorporating self-care practices throughout the day. This can include simple acts such as having tea, taking supplements, and nourishing their bodies with healthy food. By establishing a self-care rhythm from morning to evening, individuals can consistently attend to their own needs.

The episode acknowledges that as women, there is often a tendency to focus on others, such as spouses, children, partners, and family members. However, it is crucial to remember to prioritize self-care amidst these responsibilities. Dr. Gupta emphasizes that self-care is a way of building trust with oneself and demonstrating a commitment to self-love.

Overall, self-care is not selfish but rather a necessary aspect of personal growth and well-being. By prioritizing self-care and putting oneself first, individuals can rewire their brains and teach their bodies to expect consistent self-care, leading to a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

    Indian health history and prevention.
Dr. Shivani Gupta: “Ayurveda is a system of health, healing, and medicine from India that's over 5,000 years old. It uses plant medicine. It uses diet. Ayurveda has a major focus on gut health being the center of all health. Ayurveda teaches us that there's a concept called circadian rhythm, which just means we live according to nature's clock. And if we're going to defy nature's clock and fight against it, then we're not going to get to have the health and vitality that we really want, we can prevent a lot of these horrible diseases that are part of our heritage and part of our ethnicity and background.”

    The Power of Turmeric.
Dr. Shivani Gupta: “If you look at super spices like turmeric and ginger and ashwagandha and all the different spices from Ayurveda, they are such powerful anti-inflammatories, antioxidants. They are reversers of aging, such powerful investments in longevity. They improve gut health, heart health, brain health, all the different systems of health. So when I learned about turmeric, I was like this is that one spice that if my family had all those generations ago, maybe we didn't have to pay the prices that we paid. “

    Self-care and empowerment.
Dr. Shivani Gupta: "Self-care is a rhythm that I build throughout my day. It’s t

    About this episode
In this podcast episode, the importance of taking time for oneself and the power of pausing is discussed. CEO Nicole Michelle Durio, CPA shares the mental fast she embarked on in 2008, abstaining from radio, television, and social media. During this time, she focused on activities such as reading, learning, exploring, meditating, and thinking. She described this period as powerful, with a lasting impact on her media consumption habits. While she now watches some television and uses social media to a limited extent, Nicole maintains a more intentional and mindful approach.

The episode also highlights the need for women of color to pause and reflect on their actions and reactions. Instead of being reactive, they are encouraged to respond to situations, allowing for more thoughtful decision-making. By letting go of past mistakes and using them as learning experiences, women of color can make better decisions moving forward.  Nicole believes that engaging in activities one is passionate about naturally attracts success and opportunities.

Nicole suggests that being committed to one's purpose and having a clear understanding of their "why" is crucial. When individuals have a strong sense of purpose and a clear understanding of why they are pursuing their goals, they are less likely to give up easily. They are driven by their purpose and more resilient in the face of challenges.

Nicole encourages women of color to create their own opportunities if they are not being invited to the table. Rather than waiting for opportunities to come their way, they should take initiative and make their own path. This mindset of taking action and moving with purpose is emphasized as a key factor in tapping into power and voice.

    Listening to God.
Nicole Durio: “So I'm sitting there thinking, do I have enough time to try to recover or recuperate? And I decided in my prayer time, while tears were flowing down my eyes, God, I'm going to take my hands off the wheel. and I'm just gonna let you drive. Let's just see where this goes without my hand trying to guide it, steer it, or change it. And within two weeks, I got not a pink slip, I got a long white letter with my severance agreement and the severance compensation. And I drove home and I got into my prayer closet and I took a couple weeks. And what God shared with me is you've enhanced the wealth of a lot of big businesses. Now I

    About this episode
In this episode, Jackie Gouché, mother of DSmoke, Inglewood SIR, and Davion Farris (all Grammy-nominated artists), shares her personal journey of not truly knowing herself until her 50s. She encourages women of color to regularly spend time alone, searching within themselves to discover their true desires. This process of self-analysis allows women of color to identify their strengths, capabilities, and potential, empowering them to effectively use their voices.

Jackie also emphasizes the significance of gratitude, acceptance, and spiritual connection in moving forward and achieving goals. She discusses how expressing gratitude for what we have and accepting our current circumstances can empower us and prevent us from succumbing to negative emotions such as sadness and depression. She acknowledges that desiring something other than what we have can create suffering and hinder our progress. However, she also emphasizes that being content does not mean we should never strive for more. It is important to have goals and dreams and work towards them, but not at the expense of disliking our current situation.

    God as a real person.
Jackie: “Music actually is what saved my life. Coming off of a binge, I would go to the piano and sing and pray and talk to God and so music was like my salvation. I talk about my experiences as a mother of three boys, a single parent, or my husband was incarcerated, all the struggles and being on welfare.  I appreciate every struggle, every trial, all the hard times, the addiction, the welfare. I appreciate all of it because it developed a strength and a resilience and a wisdom in me that I wouldn't have had otherwise. And the stabilizing factor in all of that is my relationship with God. And I don't mean that in the religious sense of what church tells us or what religion tells us, but a real actual relationship with a person who was there with me and there for me through all that I went through.”

    Raising Kings and Music Dreams.
Jackie: “All of my sons have been working towards their dream of music for their entire lives. I started teaching them when they were three, four, and five. Daniel (D Smoke) was playing classical piano at age eight. I just wanted people to know the process that many of us go through to get to where we are. There's a story behind it. I wanted to share it, especially for young people who, who have dreams and aspire to do things like my sons are doing. This microwave generation think they can jus get on YouTube and get a bunch of followers and just become

    About this episode
In this episode, The Love Coach, Veronica Lynn Clark, Author/Speaker/Coach, stresses the importance of aligning intention with desire and believing in the possibility of achieving dreams. Taking action is crucial, but so is having faith in oneself. This belief is connected to self-worth and self-love, as the more one loves and believes in themselves, the more likely their dreams are to come true.

According to Veronica, living a dream life involves utilizing one's gifts to bring in wealth, income, and joy. Veronica finds joy in creating every day and acknowledge that everyone's dream life may look different due to unique needs and desires.

Veronica emphasizes the importance of tuning into one's heart and aligning with their higher purpose and higher self. This connection can provide guidance and alleviate stress, particularly for women in professional settings who may benefit from reconnecting with their feminine energy.

Veronica underscores the significance of aligning intention with desire, believing in the possibility of achieving dreams, and taking action to make them a reality. Veronica also highlights the importance of self-worth, self-love, and tapping into one's feminine energy to live a fulfilling and joyful dream life.

    Reinventing your life.
Veronica Lynn Clark: “So I help people to reinvent themselves and to really recognize like all of the gifts of their struggle and of their breakdowns and of all the pain and all the traumas and all the things that they went through. We use all of the gold from that to help them to reinvent their life. It's just basically helping people when they have had breakdowns to really have massive breakthroughs. Massive breakers.”

    Love coaching and self-worth.
Veronica Lynn Clark: “Love coaching is so multifaceted, like the greatest love affair that we can ever hope to embark upon is the love affair with ourselves. Like that is the number one relationship. That's the best relationship ever. “

    Practicing feminine energy.
Veronica Lynn Clark: “Women in the workplace are very masculine oriented. I got to get stuff done, I got to stay focused, I'm running a business.  I’m doing these things very task oriented. And, and so that means then that we are not making a lot of time for our softness, for our feminine to really flow. And when we don't allow that, we bring a lot of extra stress to ourselves. We are putting a lot of pressure, not only on our mental health, but also on our physical

    About this episode
Demarra West, founder and chief wellness officer of Be Well Beautiful Woman, in this episode, explains how the Be Well, Beautiful Woman podcast and other offerings revolve around the topic of well-being and proactive practices to enhance resilience. She emphasizes the importance of taking a proactive approach to build resilience and effectively handle life's challenges.

Demarra's work, including retreats, group coaching, virtual community, and podcast episodes, all center around the concept of well-being and its daily practice. The goal is to create a supportive space where women can come together, learn, and live a fully aligned life rooted in their desires and centered on joy. By prioritizing well-being and taking proactive steps, women can tap into their power, find their purpose, and connect with the world in a way that supports personal growth and evolution.

Demarra also mentions an upcoming summit called the "abundance summit," featuring inspiring women who serve as sources of inspiration for others to live a fully aligned life. Demarra believes that practicing gratitude, using breath to center oneself, and setting intentions are three effective ways to access joy, find clarity, and maintain a sense of well-being.

    People as pathways to prosperity.
Demarra West: “And whether we're talking about the group mastermind coaching or the virtual community, Be My Sister's Keeper, or, you know, a podcast episode, everything centers around well-being and how we can practice that day in and day out. And not from a reactive standpoint, but from a proactive standpoint, so that when life lifes, we're more resilient, right, to deal with that. And everything centers around you know, the co-creation process and harnessing our power and finding out what our purpose and our passion is and connecting with, you know, the world in a way that is supportive of our evolution and really asking for help.”

    Keeping our energy clean.
Demarra West: “Keeping our energy clean allows us to always be in a power play position. And so we can certainly clear energy through Reiki or EFT or Tai Chi, but also somatic practices that allow movement, like a yoga practice.  When we're not moving, what's happening to our energy, it's stagnating. So anytime we're moving, we're actually in part releasing energy. This is about ultimately understanding that everything we do, everything we feel is ours and ours alone.“

    About this episode
Taking time for ourselves, even if it's just for a few minutes during the day, is incredibly important for our overall well-being as Dr. Tiffany Smith and I discuss in this episode. By pausing and engaging in activities that bring us joy, we can calm our nervous system, decrease anxiety, and approach tasks and challenges in a more mindful way. This practice has a positive impact on various aspects of our lives, including preventing accidents, maintaining harmonious relationships, and improving our physical health.
We also discuss how engaging in activities that bring us joy not only benefits our mental and emotional well-being but also has physical advantages which is part of Dr. Tiffany’s practice. Mindful breathing and taking time for ourselves aids in detoxification and drainage in our bodies. It helps our lymph nodes to eliminate toxins and increases circulation, promoting the flow of oxygen, blood, and lymph. Additionally, this practice contributes to hormonal balance and overall well-being, allowing us to achieve homeostasis.
It's important to note that there are various ways to take a pause for ourselves, and it's about doing things that bring us joy. Whether it's listening to our favorite song, watching a comedy show, or simply stepping outside and feeling the warmth of the sun on our face, these activities help us relax and find balance.
Taking time for ourselves and engaging in activities that bring us joy is a powerful practice with numerous benefits for our physical and mental well-being. It is crucial to prioritize self-care and make time for ourselves in order to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. By doing so, we can achieve harmony, both mentally and physically, and ensure that we are prioritizing our own well-being. It’s how we practice self-love in our dream life journey.

Dr Tiffany: “So I started working with him with these modalities and he is the most active person. And so we're living our life. And so I saw that my patients in my traditional practice were really suffering with a lot of the same things. So we created our own practice and started to bring in this knowledge. All that knowledge I gained from him, I start to share it with others. But one of the biggest things is the impact of our lifestyle on our health. And so that's what I really carry forward in my message. And we named our company after our journey, Aroma Functional Nutrition Psychiatry.”
