Wonderings - reflections of a minister Anikó Schütz Bradwell
-
- Religion & Spirituality
A new podcast in which Rev Anikó Schütz Bradwell reflects on life and ministry. She’s a parish minister in a rural parish in East Lothian, Scotland. Originally from Germany, she volunteered halfway across Europe before coming to Scotland, where she lived and worked for nearly three years on the Isle of Iona. Then settling in Edinburgh, she trained as a minister in the Church of Scotland. She shares life with her husband, young son, a manse cat and two guinea pigs, and enjoys their garden, photography, music and books - especially when she finds the time for any of these. She recharges and does much of her wondering on early morning walks in the local community woodland. To find out more about her work, visit the websites of the churches where she ministers: www.humbiechurch.org and www.yesterboltonsaltounchurch.org, and their instagram, twitter and youtube channels.

’People remember what we do’
This time, I'm having a chat with my friend Gordon, who is a prion chaplain, about his ministry. He explains what he does, and what motivates him. There are some difficult themes we touch upon.
After this episode, I'm taking a break from Wonderings, but I hope we'll meet again later in the year.

Helpless
Looking around the world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, overburdened, and yes, helpless. Why doesn't God do more to protect, save, heal us? The age old question is one of the things I'm wondering about this week.

Meeting Ali
This time, I'm talking to my friend Ali, who is a chaplain in Rachel House, a CHAS (Children's Hospices Across Scotland, more info at www.chas.org.uk) children's hospice. We're talking about her ministry and her day to day work. As always, there are also some of my wonderings and a prayer. I hope you enjoy listening.

Do you find Advent to be a really busy time? Here's a reflection on maybe taking some of the stress out of it. After all, what is Advent all about?

How are you feeling?
Apologies for the long silence - you know, life. This time, I'm thinking about emotions, and how we feel in reaction to what we experience. I reflect on passages from Psalm 137 and Luke's gospel ch 19 vs 41 and 42, and offer a prayer.
