Ngap et Croco: La Poule et le Crocodile
Un jour, au cœur de la savane africaine, une poule nommée Ngap vint boire à la rivière. Là, elle rencontra un crocodile appelé Croco. Croco pensa : « Voilà un bon déjeuner ! » et attrapa Ngap par la queue. Mais Ngap se mit à crier : « Lâche-moi, Croco ! Lâche-moi, cher grand frère ! » Surpris, Croco se demanda pourquoi Ngap l'appelait « grand frère ». Plein de surprise, il la laissa partir. Le lendemain, Ngap revint à la rivière. Croco, encore affamé, l'attendait et l'attrapa par une aile. Ngap cria de nouveau : « Lâche-moi, Croco ! Lâche-moi, cher grand frère ! » Encore une fois, Croco la laissa partir, car il se disait : « Peut-on manger sa sœur ? » Mais cela le tracassait, alors il alla voir son ami le lézard pour lui raconter l'histoire. « Écoute, lézard, il m'est arrivé quelque chose d'extraordinaire. J'ai attrapé une poule près de la rivière. Je voulais la manger, mais elle m'a appelé son cher grand frère. Suis-je le frère des poules ? » Le lézard éclata de rire : « Cette poule ne mentait pas, Croco. Ne sais-tu pas que les poules naissent dans des œufs, tout comme vous, les crocodiles ? » Croco hocha la tête : « Hé oui, tu as raison, ami lézard. Je n'y avais jamais pensé ! La poule est vraiment ma sœur, ou au moins ma cousine. » Et depuis ce jour, Croco ne s'en est plus jamais pris aux poules.
