We‘re three English Majors setting out to analyze the CW‘s Supernatural now that it‘s over, trying to untangle everything that made it the enormous cultural phenomenon it was and making sure to complain about its problems along the way.

Word of God Watches the Supernatural Anime Episode C: “’Til Death Do Us Part” and “Temptation of the Demon”
Welcome back to Word of God!
We are: Ash (the old-time fan), Emma (the latecomer), and Wyatt (the newbie). We're digesting this show in chunks of about two episodes a week.
But right now, we're doing things a little differently. In solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA strikes, we are not promoting struck content or struck platforms, which includes the CW and Supernatural. Doesn't mean the Supernatural Anime though :) Go here for the full post on it. Congratulations to the WGA for getting a deal and ending the strike! SAG-AFTRA is still striking, so we're still here!
Today, we talk about "'Til Death Do Us Part" and "Temptation of the Demon"

An Announcement!
Hi! Sorry for the radio silence these past few weeks, we keep forgetting which day of the week it is! 😅
Anyway, no episode today, unfortunately, but an announcement explaining our current and future absence!
TL;DL: in solidarity with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, we are refraining from driving attention to struck platforms and content. But fear not! We're not just going to disappear for however long those god damn executives try to starve us out. Instead, we're going to do some Supernatural-Related content that isn't actually watching the CW's Supernatual.
If you want to hear more, or if you just want to listen to some cool people talk about labor struggles, give this episode of A More Civilized Age (a Star Wars podcast) a listen! You've probably heard them mentioned many times before. If you like Star Wars, I can't recommend this podcast enough.
Anyway, weird plug over.
Here, too, is a post about the SPN anime that was probably mentioned, but I can't remember anymore.
Until next time!

Customer Reviews
Kripke era is not the gold standard!
I listen to about 15 spn podcasts (what adhd does to a mf) and Word of God is definitely one of my favorites! Ash, Emma, and Wyatt work really well together and I like the dynamic of 3 people who have seen different amounts of the series.
That said, I figured ahead of the season 5 review I would make my (very casual) case for late-stage spn (8-15). So. Supernatural is bad. If I wanted to watch “good” tv I would go literally anywhere else. More than anything, spn is an experience; it’s something that HAPPENS to you. I just don’t think seasons 1-5 are cumulatively any less bad than the rest of the show (although the Kripke era racism is BAD BAD BAD) except maybe Gamble Era but that gave us 6.20 so. I can only speak for myself, but the only reason I was able to finish 15 seasons and choose to stick around is the characters. I mean, as a Casgirl, I think 6-15 are worth it for his arc alone.
But does Kripke era have drowley, Rowena, Eileen, Claire, or Jack? The Cas/Colette parallels?? Thee widower arc??? No! And it’s so special to see Cas find faith/purpose outside of the Winchesters. You can pry dadstiel from my cold, dead hands!
So, yes, ultimately this is all very subjective. Each show runner has their highs and lows and it depends on what you personally get out of it all. But, I do selfishly hope you all make it to the end <3
Super fun!
Love this show it’s the highlight of my Wednesday! The pod is an episode by episode analysis of supernatural and is a great way to re-experience the 15 season car crash that is the CWs supernatural. Great analysis of characterization, themes, and the behind the scenes of the shows creation. Thanks for the brainworms 10/10
Such a fun show!
An enjoyable podcast to listen to while rewatching the hot mess that is CW's Supernatural. Ash, Emma, and Wyatt all bring thought-provoking and fun perspectives into their interpretations of the show. Each episode (so far) has such chaotic, excited energy to it. If you like listening to people nerd out about very specific subjects, this is definitely a podcast I'd recommend.
