Words of War was an anthology of war stories, "told by the men and women who have seen them happen." It was produced in cooperation with the Council on Books in Wartime, promising "stories of the battlefronts, of behind-the-scenes diplomacy, of underground warfare, of the home front, of action on the seas." Each show was to be "a living record of this war and things for which we fought."

Absolutely essential for Americans

This is such an important collection of recordings. The history to be learned here is fascinating, and factual, but also attention capturing for all.
Oh, how I wish I could get my own kids, and others, to try the various historic podcasts. Most folks are missing so much free quality entertainment with OTR in all genres.

Still important

Its nice to see this- radio that treats the listener like they are able to think and covers interesting topics- many of which are still important today.
Wish there was more radio like this today- in an easily digested radio play format where players take different viewpoints and explore the isssues, Its nice to think that once ordinary people payed attention to important issues.
