Perfect blend of sci fi and fantasy

I really have enjoyed listening to A William Wrights series. It reminds me of matrix mixed with interplanetary travel (interstellar?) and a dystopian government plot. I am only half way through the first book but I have enjoyed the character development and thoughts of the author. The story line seems to build off the ideas of “what would happen if mankind recreated their own universe” and “what if we had a second chance at life due to technological advancement”.
