Episode 290 - Longsword Fencing, HEMA, and the Middle of America

Episode 290 - Longsword Fencing, HEMA, and the Middle of America

In this episode, I interview Michaelangelo Reina (Angel) from the Omaha Kunst Des Fechtens HEMA fencing club. I discovered this group last year and have been training in longsword fencing for months now and absolutely love it. Angel is our club instructor and we have a chat about how he found himself in Omaha and how he managed to start this wonderful club.
HEMA is an international organization and to learn more, just go to the OKDF website where you can see what our classes are about, watch video, and take a look at our schedule.
NOTE: Some of the audio has a little clipping. Sorry for that. Also, I'm aware I pronounced "Fechtens" incorrectly in the opening audio. Whaddya do?

    Episode 289 - We're Baaaaaaacccckkk!!

So Worlds of Wayne has been going for over 10 years now and as I started a new business last year, I contemplated letting go of this show. As time went on, I remembered all the fond memories I have had hosting and interviewing some pretty amazing folks over the years. So it is with great pleasure for me to say that I will be continuing the show. It'll have a little different format, one that fits my worlds a little better.
In this episode, I welcome my lovely wife Laurie as my cohost. We did the 5 O'clock Lifestyle Podcast together, but quit that when I quit drinking. So this is a way to combine the best of both worlds.
We talk about the show revamp, our adventures with our new business Dungeon Crate, OEAAs, troubles with facebook, psychic readings, and our Friday Morning Movie Club with a review of John Wick 2.
    Enjoy.

Great variety

Sweet music podcast featuring not only local and regional talent, but quality bands passing through Omaha as well. Wayne also frequently covers local events like the annual Zombie Walk and attempts by locals to break records in the Guinness Book. Whatever might be the topic of the day, it's always an attention-grabber and always coupled with the best music around.

Cool podcast Wayne! Love the bands you promote. Gets me listening to stuff I hadn't before and that is always nice. I am now a subscriber and will never be in the dark again. Keep it up! Mel
