Join me (Johners) as I sit down with Big Kon and Vik ‘The Spacelord’ The Awakening (Fka The Ascension)

In this really fun 200th episode special interview, we discuss their reign as the longest ever NXT tag team champions, as well as some of the more interesting times they experienced at the beginning of their run.

I ask them about their early days in the business, with Vik starting out with the Harts in Stampede, training in the notorious “Hart Family Dungeon” before heading over to the UK and then Japan. 

We discuss with Big Kon getting his break with Deep South Wrestling in Georgia, before wrestling on the house shows for the new ECW in 2006/2007.

We talk about the origins of the faction known as The Ascension and the evolution of the team, leading to their record breaking championship reign.

We discuss their relationship with the legendary Dusty Rhodes whilst in FCW and NXT, before discussing some of their favourite opponents and teams to work with on the Black & Yellow brand.

We also talk about their time on the main roster, some of their more memorable Pay Per View matches, and some of their frustrations with how the Tag Team division was being handled, especially at TV tapings.

We also talk about the fun they are having being back on the Independents and what the future holds for them as a duo.
