WS2812 - FastLED sample project Coding 101 (Video)

    • Courses

To make FastLED work with an array of WS2812 LEDs, there are five basic pieces that Padre discusses with Mark "Smitty" Smith

Quick Notes:

The power regulator on an Arduino can provide ~500ma if you're giving it at least 7v of power
If you're powering it from USB, it's closer to 400ma
Each LED can pull UP TO 60ma (20ma per color)
If you're going to power a long strand of LEDs, you want to use an external power source.
