Marc Maron welcomes comedians, actors, directors, writers, authors, musicians and folks from all walks of life to his home for amazingly revealing conversations. Marc's probing, comprehensive interview style allows guests to express themselves in ways listeners have never heard.
“The Pope of Trash” John Waters talks to Marc about filth, censorship and breaking all the rules for more than 50 years.
Tom Jones talks with Marc about belting out hit after hit, being friends with Elvis, and going strong at 80 because he still has a point to prove.
Yo-Yo Ma talks to Marc about being a child prodigy, studying anthropology, befriending Mr. Rogers, and what Beginner’s Mind means.
Sally Struthers talks with Marc about the 50th anniversary of All In The Family, Five Easy Pieces, The Getaway, and touring the world.
Katey Sagal talks with Marc about her real life as a singer, a mother, and a sober person, and her fake life as Peg Bundy, the matriarch of the Sons of Anarchy, and a Rebel.
Hunter Biden joins Marc in the garage for a talk about grief, desperation, tragedy, trouble and deep drug addiction.
I came across this by accident and so happy I did! Each interview is thoroughly entertaining, and Marc is totally down to earth! This is truly one of my favorite podcasts right now!!
Good, but not as much as it was before Marc became famous and happier.
Marc’s early interviews, which were often with people he knew and had a shared history with, were very entertaining. He continued to be entertaining as he branched out beyond his comfort zone beyond comedians. His quirks and vulnerabilities made him relatable, as what he personally interjected with his guests.
Now, as his fame has grown, his interests broadened, and he’s interviewed hundreds of celebrities, with some guests he can seem disinterested, unprepared, or worse more interested in trying to impress the guest or share personal anecdotes than let the guest talk and feed off what they’re saying.
But it’s still usually a great listen, and when it’s good, it’s really good.
Just goddamn entertaining! Crushed it Marc
