Love letter to Xena

This is a fun podcast where the podcasters talk about their love for the series. They not only praise the show but also criticize and make fun of the show at times. It's so funny to just listen Allie and Chris go back and forth and you can tell they are having fun. Fans also write in and provide some historical insight into the show and such information is introduced during the podcast. I didn't get to experience the show real time during the 90s but this podcast succeeds at describing the wackiness and fun of the show.

Somehow stretch a 43 min episode to 1.5 hours and it totally rocks!

So great to have such fun commentary on something that was so important to me growing up!

“Mansplaining“ ruins it for me.

I tried. Several episodes worth. Allie is lovely and funny but Chris really ruined it for me. Xena was an iconic and feminist show (for it‘s time). I found it really irritating to have it minimized and mansplained by Chris. The other thing that I found gross was his condescending attitude and comments toward Allie. I didn’t think it was funny or cute. It just sounds like he loves to be right and he doesn’t respect her. Maybe that’s their schtick but it’s a hard pass from me.
