XOXO Amanda and Becky talk about Gossip Girl

OK, so I don’t mean to be that annoying person. But you guys were mentioning how there was no female LGBTQ representation. That’s not true. Max is pansexual, Aki is questioning, Monet is a lesbian, and Luna is a transgender woman. Just so you guys know for next GG show.

Becky and Amanda expertly summarize episodes and explore the themes and character arcs in this seminal late-aughts teen soap. They were also far ahead of the crowd in their assessments of the lack of representation in the first television adaptation of Cecily von Ziegesar’s young adult novels. Their musings are wide-ranging beyond each GG episode, however, and rather than being tangential, they serve to place the show in a broader cultural context then and now. My one note: you talked one time about which breed of dog each character would be and Serena is clearly an Afghan hound

I love the duo so much and I listen everyday. I think their comments and criticisms are so funny. I totally recommend it. Every episode they do makes me laugh.

Amanda and Becky’s commitment to the discussion of Gossip Girl amazes me. It’s obvious they put a lot of care, and critical thinking to having thoughtful conversations about the show.
